tools and then one specific tool was challenging. I actually explored many more tools
and learned so much by looking into different tools to use as an instructional tools and
tools that my students could use. I narrowed my three tools down to Prezi, Seesaw, and
Nearpod. These tools are free, but have a purchase option that allows access to more
Prezi can be used by students or teachers. This tool allows you to create an
exciting presentation. There are three parts: Prezi Design, Prezi Video, and Prezi
Present. It actually allows you to make a video of yourself presenting the slides, so that
students can see you and the information all on one screen at the same time in Prezi
Video. I can use it to present to my students or students can even use it to make a
presentation for a project. They already have designs made that you can use, or you
PDFs for students. Students can use different editing tools and edit the work on their
account. It also allows them to record your voice if you don’t want to do a video. There
are so many features in this tool. Teachers are able to see what the students know by
creating their work. Students can also take photos of their work to upload. Each student
has a journal, which is a portfolio. Teachers have the ability to set it where they have to
approve anything that is submitted onto the platform. Teachers can also comment on
the posts using text or voice. The school version has many more features that allows
you to add more pages to the activity you post and allows you to send the assignment
others. This tool is great for teachers to use who are teaching virtually. While you are
meeting LIVE with your students, you can send them a link and it will allow you to share
the presentation on their screen that you can control. It also allows you to have real-time
question and answer sessions. There are already made presentations on different
topics, or you can design your own. This prevents students from saying “the screen is
froze” when you sharing your presentation, because it is through an actual website.
I have chosen to focus on Prezi. This tool allows me to create a video of myself
with the visuals and graphics right beside me, or I could just use the interactive piece of
Prezi if I didn’t want to be seen. This allows for whatever I am talking about at the time
to pop-up so that it reaches all types of learners. This tool is an upgrade from
PowerPoint. Many students and teachers are familiar with PowerPoint, but using the
same type of instruction method or presentation tool gets boring after a while. Prezi
allows people to spice of their presentations. The Prezi Video is a great tool to use now
with the increase of more virtual meetings and presentations. This gives the viewer the
aspect that you are there presenting, instead of just seeing slides as you talk. I am
honestly tired (I’m sure my students are also) of just using Microsoft Teams to teach
them. I think Prezi Video allows me to step up my instruction and grasp my students
more. I have been searching for tools to make virtual teaching more engaging, and I feel
this one tool will help. I can’t wait to see what other tools I learn about through this
