Vessel Performance Analyst

We are a team of Marine Engineers and Naval Architects with a varied horizon of knowledge in the field of vessel performance
analysis. The role will not only develop the candidate to gain knowledge in vessel performance management but will also
improve soft skills in decision making and team building. The job is multi-faceted and helps an individual grow in many aspects
in both personal and professional life.

As “Vessel Performance Analyst” your duties will include –

1) Data Management –
a) Procure and maintain ship’s Veslink reports
i) Approve/reject reports
ii) Liaise with vessel for maintaining error free reporting system
iii) Co-operate with vessel operations to maintain IMOS system (Forms module).
b) Maintain data in Vessel Performance (VPS) portal
i) Pool Terms creation/update
ii) TC Terms creation/update
iii) Vessel details creation/update
iv) Owner’s access creation/update
c) Maintain data of allied processes
i) Monthly billing
ii) StratumFive services activation/deactivation & troubleshooting
2) Performance Management –
a) Check and update reports, passages & voyages in VPS portal
b) Pool performance
i) Generate, check and analyses pool performance (sea performance) of the pool vessels as per the pool terms
and pool methodology, on quarterly and bi-annual basis.
ii) Analyze port performances of the pool vessels as per the pool methodology.
iii) Analyze heating performances of the pool vessels as per the pool methodology.
iv) Prepare pool performance Recaps on bi-annual basis for pool participants.
c) Commercial performance
i) Prepare TC report as per the TC terms at set intervals.
ii) Maintain TC vessel claim status on quarterly, half yearly and annual basis.
iii) Generate Emissions report at the end of each voyage
iv) Prepare “End of Voyage” reports
v) Prepare quarterly and half yearly recaps for each vessel as per the set methodology
3) Admin work scope
a) Process optimization/development – help in continuous improvement in the team’s various processes
b) Maintain the performance portal and attend to customers query regarding the portal
c) Participate in the development of performance management tools
i) Performance monitoring application
ii) Veslink forms and other forms
iii) Training modules
iv) Updating in-house quality system documentation on vessel performance services
d) Conduct training of ship’s staff regarding performance analysis and Veslink reporting
4) Business development
a) Participate in business development brainstorming sessions
b) Represent the team during crew seminars, client meetings, etc.

Required skills –

1. Sailing experience – 4th Engineer or 3rd Officer OR sound knowledge/experience of vessel performance
management
2. Excellent computer skills especially MS Office
3. Ability to manage, and analyze large volumes of data
4. Analytical thinking
5. Self-starter, motivated and a zeal to learn and grow
6. Out of the box thinking
7. Good communication
8. Organized and clean work approach

Desired skills –
1. Hand on visualization tools Power BI/Tableau
2. Knowledge of Data analytics R, Python
3. Strong sense of responsibility
4. Leadership skills
5. Decision making capabilities
