- Arunachal Pradesh is a beautiful state in North east India.
– It borders the states of Assam and Nagaland to the south.
- It shares international borders with Bhutan in the west, Myanmar in the east,
and a disputed border with China in the north at the McMahon Line.

State Capital: Itanagar is the state capital of Arunachal Pradesh. Arunachal Pradesh is
the largest of the Seven Sister States of Northeast India by area. Arunachal
Pradesh means Land of the Dawn-Lit Mountains, which is the sobriquet for the state
in Sanskrit. The state is also known as the Orchid State of India or the Paradise of the
Botanists. It became a full-fledged State on 20th February, 1987. Till 1972, it was
known as the North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA). It gained the Union Territory status
on 20 January 1972 and renamed as Arunachal Pradesh. the earliest sunrise

Traditional Dresses of

Manpas- The traditional women's attire is a sleeveless chemise, along with a
jacket. The women of the Sherdukpen tribe wear waist clothes known as Mushaiks and skull caps
known as Gurdams, which are made of Yak hair.

Adi Tribe-Galae is worn by both the genders of this tribe and particularly men wear helmets
dirwed out of der and bear skins and canes. The unmarried women wear a unique jewelry
known as Beyop. The traditional dress of the tribal women is crinoline that resembles a blouse.

Naga or Tangsa - The men usually wear green colored Lungis, with white, wellow or red
sleeveless shirts. The women usually wear attractive linen blouse.

Accessories Accessories are very significant for the tribal women and are unique to each
and every tribe.
The most common accessories are earrings and silver an They are intricately designed with
bamboo bits and TH embellished with beads and turquoises.

Food habits of the people of Meghalaya


The dishes typical of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh vary
within the region, including according to tribal influence (with the influence of Apatanis.
Chuki, adi and Nishi)

Apong or rice beer made from fermented rice or millet is a popular beverage in Arunachal
Pradesh, as an alcoholic drink. There are different varieties of rice beer with different
flavours.

The staple food is rice along with fish, meat and many green vegetables. Different varieties of rice
are available.

Lettuce is the most common and preferred vegetable of all, prepared by boiling it with ginger,
coriander and green chillies and pinch of salt. Boiled rice cakes wrapped in leaves is
a famous shack. Dishes in eastern districts like Tirap
and Changlang have some different method in their way of food preparation.

Mary wild herbs and shrubs are also part of the cuisine. Dried bamboo shoots
are used extensively in cooking.

# The people of Arunachal celebrate various occasions and for various reasons, be it
religious, socio-cultural or agricultural.
The tribal people are simple living people and derive happiness out of small things in life. +
Since agriculture is the main occupation, there are various festivals where people pray and
thank god for a good harvest. . Some of the prominent festivals celebrated in
Arunachal Pradesh are

Rita Chowdhury (born 17 August 1960) is an Indian
poet, novelist and Sahitya Akademi Award recipient in
the world of Assamese literature. 1112) She has been
working as an associate professor in Cotton College,
Guwahati, Assam in Political Science Department since
2001. Prior to that, Chowdhury had worked as lecturer
from 1991 to 1996 and as senior lecturer from 1996 to
2001 in the same college. She started her teaching
career as lecturer in Political Science in Diphu
Government College, Karbi Anglong from the year
1989 to 1991.3) She is currently the Director of
National Book Trust, India. [4 She is also the wife of
minister Chandra Mohan Patowary.

received the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian

Jomin Tayeng (1 February 1944 - 7 May 2013) was an


Indian bureaucrat and politician who became the first
direct recruit Officer of the Indian Administrative Service from
Arunachal Pradesh in 1968.
Anshu Jamsenpais an Indian mountaineer and the second
woman in the world to scale the summit of Mount Everest twice in a
season, and the fastest double summitter to do so within 5 days.

Tapi Mra is a mountaineer and the first person from Arunachal
