CHEERDANCE COMPETITION

A. ELIGIBILITY

All members of the Cheerdance Team must be bonafide students of the school during the
Academic Year 2014-2015.

Documentary Requirements for Participants:

1. School ID
2. Parent’s Permit
3. Health Certificate

B. MECHANICS

a. Each school should have a representative team to the competition. The cheerdance team must
consist of boys and girls in any combination, numbering a minimum of 15 and maximum of 25.
b. A maximum of 5 members ( no teacher allowed ) maybe added who shall solely act as either
propsmen for the team and music operators.
c. The additional 5 who are not members of the cheerdance team should wear black uniform- t-
shirt pants and shoes
d. Once the participants are on the stage, no more coaching from the DI or the teacher.

C. DETAILS OF PERFORMANCE

a. Duration: Six (6) minutes including entrance and exit.


b. Routine mist be within a maximum of 5 minutes.
c. Routine may be accompanied with mixed music.
d. Each team should prepare a team cheer and must be yelled live combined with the hip-hop
dance and exhibitions. Yelling school name is not allowed.
e. Personal jewelries or accessories of any kind are prohibited, for safety purpose.
f. Flags, banners, signs, pompoms, etc. are allowed but must not bear school name. All props must
be safely secured after the performance. Any uniform piece purposely removed from the body
and used for visual effects would be considered as props.
g. While cheerdancers are performing, we encourage them to have full self-expression. However,
any inappropriate gestures, or suggestive dance moves toward other dancers, will result in
immediate disqualification.
h. No vulgar, rude, naughty and improper use of music, cheers, props, costumes and choreography
in every team’s routine. Disqualification will be imposed on the spot of their performances.
i. No pyramids, no lifts and no tosses will be allowed. Only gymnastics skills; rolls, tumblings, etc.
are authorized.
j. Fireworks or any form of props or effects with fire will not be allowed.
k. Officials have the right to stop a performance due to injury.
l. Non-compliance to the rule or any unsuccessful execution of a particular movement is minus
one (1) point to the total score.
m. All decisions rendered by the judges concerning scores and rules interpretation will be
considered as final.
n. Tabulators must come from three (3) different schools. Scores will be collected by a sect of this
interested parties. Orient the judges before the judging give the base score chosen by the non-
participants

Transition/Formation/Use of floor
-Smoothness in transition from one movement to
another
-Variety of Formations being Used
Synchronization/Timing/Precision/Musicality
-Grace, Poise & Coordination
-In tune with music

OVER-ALL CHOREOGRAPHY, CONCEPT AND ROUTINE 30%


-Over-all artistic interpretation of cheer and music
-Use of appropriate props for cheerdance, innovation of
movements & unity in routine
( Every routine must have concept & them to portray )

CHEERS, YELLS & CHANTS 5%

COSTUME 15%

TOTAL TEAM SCORE 100%

 Deduction of 1 point from the total score for every unsuccessful execution.
