1. PURPOSE

1.1 This procedure is to ensure that the samples of raw material and finished goods are retained for defined
period in case of any investigation.

2. SCOPE
2.1 This Procedure is applicable to -----

3. DEFINITION

3.1 Control Samples: Samples of Pouches retained for assuring the conformance with the production
requirements at any point of time after production is done.

4. RESPONSIBILITY

4.1 QC shall ensure that samples are retained as per defined period.

5. PROCEDURE

5.1 Crude Oil


5.1.1 Sample shall be taken from each batch at the time of filling. One kg of the sample shall
be drawn randomly in a plastic can and details of the same shall be mentioned . All such sample shall
be stored in ambient condition for one year.

5.2 Finished product


5.2.1 Sample shall be drawn in each batch at the time of filling of Finished product , which represents
whole lot of the Oil . One kg of the sample shall be drawn randomly from the filing section . Can
shall be sealed and shall have the following information:
 Batch/lot number
 Date of manufacturing

These samples shall be stored in ambient condition for two years.


5.2.2 In case of consumer/Customer complaint/recall investigation, samples to be drawn from
the retained sample for testing. After drawing the sample, pack shall be properly sealed and returned
back to sample retention room.

5.3 Destruction of Control Samples


5.3.1 All the Control Samples must be shredded and defaced after the completion of predetermined retention
time.
