relevant descriptive details, and well-structured event sequences.

set the story in motion.

I introduced a setting that sets the tone for  ¨ ¨
the story.
Organisation I wrote my story with actions and events  ¨ ¨
sequenced that unfold naturally and
logically.
I used paragraphs purposefully to show  ¨ ¨
time or setting changes, new parts of the
story, or to create suspense for readers.
Elaboration I wrote my story in such a way that readers  ¨ ¨
could picture the actions, thought and
feeling of my character
I used narrative techniques such as  ¨ ¨
dialogue and in-depth description to
develop experiences, events and characters.
I included precise words and phrases,  ¨ ¨
relevant descriptive details and sensory
language to convey experiences and
events.
Transitions I used a variety of transition words, phrases  ¨ ¨
and clauses to convey sequences and signal
shifts from on time frame or setting to
another.
Conclusion I wrote an ending that connected to the ¨ ¨
main part of the story. The character said,
did or realised something at the end that
came from what happened in the story. I
gave the reader a sense of closure of
ending on a well written cliff-hanger.
Grammar I used strong words and phrases correctly  ¨ ¨
to bring my writing to life.
I used complete sentences. I varied my  ¨ ¨
sentences to make my writing interesting.
Punctuation Before I finished writing and/or typing my  ¨ ¨
story, I checked to make sure I used
punctuations correctly (commas, full stop,
quotations)
Spelling Before I finished my writing and/or typing  ¨ ¨
I checked to make sure all my words were
spelled correctly. I may have used
resources to help me spell words I was
unsure of.
