The sun shining brightly above symbolizes hope and progress. Through education, awareness and understanding of gender issues are promoted from a young age. When integrated in the curriculum, lessons on gender sensitivity and women's rights can help dismantle prejudices and foster a more just society with equal opportunities for all.

Answer: In Pasig, the Gender and Development Programs include Ending
Violence Against Women and Children Campaigns and Breastfeeding Lectures.
Amidst the pandemic, they have managed to push through these programs
through online seminars and conferences open to all inhabitants of the city. They

she was able to attend seminars through their FDS tackling gender and
development issues. I have also attended seminars in my former school
regarding this matter. Our school also drove campaigns combatting Violence
Against Women and Children. We usually have talks about this over dinner when
everyone is in the house, and we can all give our insights regarding it.

2. How important is institutionalizing Gender and Development?

Through this, the organization can focus on sustaining its efforts towards gender
equality. The institutionalization of Gender and Development also demands
organizations to continuously evaluate and further improve their actions to lead
towards its long-term goal of improving the government and organization’s ability
to respond to gender-based issues sustainably.

3. In the present era where GAD has been given spotlight, what do you think is still
lacking in the implementation or mainstreaming of GAD.
Answer: I believe that efforts should be ramped up and more inclusive. Gender
and Development should be more integrated in schools to further educate the

youth. It is important to lay down steady foundations, especially nowadays when

bigotry and hate continues to prevail. Children at young ages should not be
taught to hate unconventional norms that women and the members of the LGBT
Community bring. It is now time to challenge the existing homophobic and sexist
traditions that the patriarchy continues to uphold.
