Lesson Plan

This lesson plan teaches students about pictographs through an activity where they identify objects in sample pictographs and answer questions about the data presented. Students are grouped and each group receives a pictograph to interpret. One pictograph shows students' favorite desserts and the other shows favorite meals. Students then make their own pictographs - one group on favorite fruits and the other on favorite desserts. Finally, students answer questions about a sample pictograph on favorite pets to assess their understanding of interpreting data in pictograph form without a scale.
