ASSIGNMENT NO. 1

1. What is TECHNOPRENEURSHIP?
The concept of Technopreneurship is the amalgation of two words,
technology and Entrepreneurship. According to Blanco 2007,
“Technopreneurship comprises identifying modern technologies and even
creation of technological opportunities by the presentation of commercial
products and services.” Thoroughly, it is a kind of entrepreneurship in the field of
technology. The process of technopreneurship is a combination of technological
advancements and entrepreneurial skills. In the products and services
transformation, an integral part of technopreneur is technology. This is a new
breed in the field of entrepreneurship. These types of entrepreneurship are
suitable for a person who is intelligent, innovative, tech-savvy, appetite, and
passionate in the calculation of risk.
A technopreneur is someone who creates a product or solution that uses
technological solutions to change the way of doing something in an orthodox
way. It improves how we have done something before and how it has to be done
in the coming future.

2. What is the relevance of Technopreneurship in your program or in


engineering?
In the current age, technology has gone from novelty to necessity. Regardless
what the sector in engineering, there are technologies of every kind at work,
empowering speed and convenience in the workplace, and reducing the
potential for human error. In connection to our program, technopreneurship in
Engineering is crucial in terms of producing and marketing sustainable products,
services and technology for commercial consumption.
Technopreneurship is also a stepping stone in the commercialization of the
research outputs related to engineering since engineering students are typically
unaware that the researches they produce may have potential commercial
value if further developed, or that certain companies, organizations, and venture
capitalists may be interested in their outputs
Therefore technopreneurship will equipthe students with tools and skills
necessary to develop researches into commercially viable ventures, and to set-up
start-up technology-driven businesses

3. What is INNOVATION?
Innovation is the practical implementation of new ideas that result in the
introduction of new goods or services or improvement with the aim of improving
efficiency, effectiveness or competitive advantage in offering goods or services.

4. What is Innovationeering?
Innovation Engineering is defined as a method for solving technology and
business problems for organizations who want to innovate, adapt, and/or enter
new markets using expertise in emerging technologies, technology business
models, innovation culture, and high-performing networks. Innovation
Engineering is the result of using the approaches, processes, behaviors, and
mindsets of entrepreneurs/innovators with the context of engineering projects.

5. What is the role of Technopreneurship in Business Planning?


A Business plan is a crucial and strategic tool to make business ideas successful
and achieve short-term and long-term objectives. In today’s time, advancement
in technology is one of the resources of a technopreneur in creating a business
plan. For me, a business plan is affected in technopreneurship in terms of
commercializing or marketing a business. Since technology made connections
easier for us human beings, a technopreneur may take advantage of expanding
the business online thus, gaining more potential customers or clients. In
conclusion, the role of technopreneurship in a business plan is to determine how
a business will run with the advantages of technology.

6. What is the benefits of engineering sector in Technoprenuership


According to Mancenido M. (n.d.), Engineering sector are excellent sources
of ideas for technological venture. One way to support this claim is the research
done by engineering students however it is unfortunate that most of them are
not pursued or commercialized. In order to bridge the problem of shortcoming
in research, Technopreneurship plays a vital role in the engineering sector to
learn a certain skill set to market the product or outcome of their research. The
engineering sectors are behind of the advancements of technology including
computers, internet, smartphones, cars, etc. Technopreneurship gain benefits by
adopting an engineering way of thinking and combining it with entrepreneurial
behavior leading towards the creation of purpose driven technopreneurs.

7. How the Technopreneurship will affect the customer or client?


Understanding the concept of technopreneurship will result to a technology
driven product or output which will be proposed to certain customers or clients.
In this process, it will be an advantage to both parties knowing the various
opportunities in technology and innovation. In most case, technopreneurship will
benefit the customer or client by Expanding the market, both national markets
and the global market, so companies can reach more customers, selecting the
best suppliers, and establish relationships with business partners. Reduce the cost
in developing, processing, distributing, storing, and accessing paper-based
information. These benefits allow the customer or client to realize a highly
specialized business in terms of technology.

8. How the Technopreneurship will compete in existing market?


In the aforementioned statement, another benefit technopreneurship has
brought to businesses is reduced costs. This is due to marketing expansion and
the rise of technopreneurship, companies can develop, process, distribute,
store, and even access information at a lower cost. One of those benefits is that
technopreneurship has expanded the market. Both national and global markets
have been expanded thanks to technopreneurship and that has allowed
companies to reach more customers, select better suppliers, and even establish
better relationships with business partners.

9. How the Technopreneurship will execute in business plan?


Since in Technopreneurship is internet or technology based, the business plan is
mostly executed with certain consideration. A technopreneur’s startup business
plan is a document that details the premise of your technology business,
summarizing vital financial objectives and operational goals, as well as details
on how the business or organization will accomplish these goals.

Pamantasan ng Lungsod Maynila
currently taking Bachelors of Science in
Civil Engineering. He is 21 years of age
and was born at Calamba, Laguna on
the 23rd of February 1999.

He studied and graduated Junior and


Senior Highschool at Holy Family
Academy in Pampanga with the track
of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. He aspires to be
a licensed Civil engineer and plans on taking Construction Management
as a course of specialization. His ambition started when he was able to
experience to manage and handle a small construction site. But still, He
is eager to learn and understand the different application of science in
Civil engineering to benefit the wellbeing of nature and mankind.
