A. Describe the importance of computers in today’s world especially during this time of pandemic.
(15pts.)

Well, the importance of computers today during pandemic the online or media its help me get
food or to get information through the online like get the news what happens in my daily life
and it so important to me its help me also to my school works and get the meeting into online
class.

B. Identify the parts of a computer system. What happens if one of those parts where missing,
what will happen? Explain the role of each part. (20pts)

The computer may well not work or open where the components of the computer are missing
and any components of the computer are particularly important as the Central Processing Unit
or (CPU) and Keyboard and even the Mouse that may not open or work the computer when no
(CPU) or power is also most important in the computer.

1. Input Devices (Keyboard, Mouse, etc.)


The mouse is a device that you use to interact with items displayed on the computer screen.
And the keyboard is a set of keys that resembles a typewriter keyboard. You use the
keyboard to type text, such as letters or numbers into the computer. the microphone is a
device to contact or to speak to other people in the computer.Scanner its a photocopy
machine can se this device to transfer an exact copy of a photograph or document into a
computer. And also the webcam is a device to see your friend in the computer.

2. Output Devices (Monitor, Speakers, etc.)


Monitor is a device to display a graphics or picture and also its similar to a television. Printer
is a device You can use a printer to create a paper copy of whatever you see on your
monitor. Speaker/Headphone is a device you can allow to hear a sounds from the speaker or
headphone

3. Central Processing Unit (CPU) and memory


The central processing unit or (CPU) is a device that interprets and runs the commands that
you give to the computer. It is the control unit of a computer. The CPU is also referred to as
the processor. And the memory its a information is stored and retrieved by the CPU and
There are two main types of memory.First its a Random Access Memory or (RAM) It is the
main memory and allows you to temporarily store commands and data. The CPU reads data
and commands from RAM to perform specific tasks. RAM is volatile, which means it is
available only while the computer is turned on.And also the Read Only Memory or (ROM) It
is the memory that retains its contents even after the computer is turned off.

4. Motherboard (Circuit Board)

The motherboard is the main circuit board inside the computer. It has tiny electronic circuits
and other components on it. A motherboard connects input, output, and processing devices
together and tells the CPU how to run.

5. Expansion Cards (Video Card, Sound Card, or NIC)


The expansion card is a circuit board that can be attached to the motherboard to add
features such as video display and audio capability to your computer. And it is connected to
the computer monitor and is used to display information on the monitor. Sound card It
converts audio signals from a microphone, audio tape, or some other source to digital
signals, which can be stored as a computer audio file. And also network interface card or
(NIC) It allows the computer to be connected to other computers so that information can be
exchanged between them.

6. Hard Drive Ports and Connections (USB, Firewire , etc.)


Universal Serial Bus or (USB) Port they use this to connect peripheral devices such as a
mouse, a modem, a keyboard, or a printer to a computer. Fire Wire: You use this to connect
devices such as a digital camera. It is faster than the USB.

C. What is the primary role of the operating system? (5pts)

the operating system or (os) operating system is a type of system that the user wants to write or
print and the user are done the system can processing to accomplish the task.

D. Name the most essential utilities in the computer and describe each. (15pts)
Most essential utilities. Troubleshooting or diagnostic programs. Antivirus programs. Backup
