Background of study.

.1 Brief Overview of M-commerce technology.

As already stated this research paper will be focusing on Mobile commerce technology and
the role it role play in different industry and organization. Mobile commerce technology is
the buying or selling of goods and services using a wireless/ handheld device such as a cell
phone or tablet(slate) computer. The fundamental idea behind M-commerce is to enable
various programs and services available on the internet to portable devices (mobile phones,
tablets, laptops, and so on) in order to overcome the limitations of a desktop computer.

M-commerce seeks to provide all of the people's information and material demands in a
simple and convenient manner. It is also used of handheld wireless devices to order and/or
pay for goods and services from internet suppliers. For example, ordering shoes from
Zappos.com via a mobile app, or purchasing music from iTunes using your iPod. M-
commerce is important in the field of information system as in current mobile environment,
one of the key sources of that drives the growth of a business is m-commerce. Mobile
applications are a helpful tool for ecommerce firms, whether small or large, to sell their
products to a larger audience.

.2 M-commerce Tool

There are various tool designed to facilitate the M-commerce tool. M-commerce have
becoming booming over the years due to the increase in growing number of selling mobile
phone, smart phones, and tablet, etc. and this will continue in many years to come. Some of
the designated tools of M-commerce are mobile phones, smart phones, PDAs, notebooks,
and more by using credit card, nets, debit card, Etc. Computer users can make buying and
selling products on the Internet by using a system of m-commerce.

Due to the rapid changes of technology the tools associated with M-commerce have also
changes. Some of the more example of the M-commerce tool that being used today are in-
app purchasing, mobile banking, virtual marketplace apps like the Amazon mobile app or a
digital wallet such as Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay. Over time, content delivery
over wireless devices has become faster, more secure and scalable. Despite this example
one of the most popular forms of the M-commerce being practiced in Fiji is the Quick
response or the QR payment through Vodafone communication platform.

According to Bashin (2021), that M-commerce tools are important as it allows businesses
and customers to sell and buy goods and services using mobile devices. People can also
conduct commercial activity on mobile devices by connecting to the internet. To add on, the
M-commerce tools also played vital role in the business field it enable;

 Online shopping via mobile devices.

 Purchase and download of mobile content.

 Access to banking services.

 Access to global information.

 Effective marketing and advertising.

 Effective targeting and widening reach to the palms and pockets of customer

Therefore, M-commerce tool is vital in the business platform or in the field of information
system as it enables prospective customers to easily look for products, compare prices, and
make payments. The universal truth behind M-commerce technology is that the more
valuable information you provide your target customers in order for them to make
purchasing decisions, the faster they will progress toward making a purchase.

In Mobile Commerce, you have a competitive advantage. Incorporating mobile technology
