The document describes an analysis of factors that influence truck delivery times using Minitab. Various statistical analysis tools in Minitab were used to generate plots and tables, including an ANOVA table, residual graphs, and a Pareto chart. The analysis found 6 factors to be statistically significant at the 5% level in influencing delivery times - truck type, order weight, and their interactions with time. Validity of the data was confirmed through normal probability, residual, and order graphs.

Pareto Chart

Residual Graph
Methods Used:
To analyze our raw data, we generated an ANOVA Variance Analysis table using
Minitab. By looking at all possible combinations given the factors and their levels we
were able to generate a general linear model. This can be viewed in the ANOVA table
and the residual graphs. Using other analysis tools in Minitab we were able to generate
plots for the main effects and the interactions effects. To confirm our data, we
conducted a full factorial analysis by using the design of experiment tab. The results
from this procedure can be seen in the Pareto chart.
Validity
To confirm the validity of the data we collected, a normal probability plot was
generated. This plot issued to confirm the normality of the raw data. The linear nature
of this chart indicates that the raw data is normal. The ‘Residual vs Fitted Plot’
indicated the presence of a few outliers within our data set yet it shows that the
variance of the error terms is roughly equal. Finally, the ‘Versus Order Graph’
demonstrates that the data can be considered independent due to its considerable
variability.
In addition, for a better analysis, confidence intervals (95%) were used for the factors
and thus determine which are the factors that significantly influence over time.
Results Obtained
As seen in the previous images, there are 6 significant factors out of the 16 factors and
interactions. These 6 factors were determined to be significant at the alpha level of five
percent. The one factor effects that were significant are the type of truck (tons) and the
Weight of order (tons). The two factor interactions that were significant are type of
truck*time and weight of order*time. The 3-factor interaction that was significant was
speed of truck*type of truck*weight of order.
