Subject Advances in science and technology and other areas of society in the last 100
years have transformed the way we live as well as postponing the day we die.
There is no better time to be alive than now.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Over the last hundred years, there have been a lot of remarkable developments related to science,
technology and other areas of society. I completely agree with the idea that this period is the best time to
be alive due to the benefits which have brought to our lives by these developments.

Firstly, it is undeniable that modern science and technology has improved the quality of life in many
ways, such as living conditions, transportation systems and health services. The introduction of electronic
devices, for instance, televisions, washing machines, refrigerators and air-conditioners have made our lives
completely more comfortable. Advances in transportation with various means of transport provides us
convenient and enjoyable ways to travel to most destinations, connects tourists and places around the
world. With the constant development of modern medical, many serious diseases have treated and human
life expectancy is increasing.

Futhermore, the miraculous development of space exploration technology brings humanity closer to
extraterrestrial universes. In recent decades, people have witnessed a lot of spectacular expeditions to Mars
or to the moon, which humanity was almost difficult to see in the past without the evolution in space
technology and astronomy. Space travels are reproduced through documentaries sci-fi movies, it broadens
our minds, lets us know more about everything over the Earth, makes our lives interesting. So, the
scientific discoveries of the astronauts not only has satisfied human curiosity about the universe, but also
have given us hope for a life in another planet in the future.

To sum up, there are several benefits of modern science and technology making people feel that it is
worthy to live in this period. I strongly believe in the continuous development of science and technology
which is expected to bring the quality of human life to an unimaginable level in the future.
