1. Define nanotechnology.
-Nanotechnology is a science, engineering and technology that study objects at the
nanoscale (between 1 and 100 nanometers in size). “nano” means very small, it is a use a
matter of molecules and atom to produce new innovations.
-It is the study and application of extremely small things and can be used across all the other
science fields, such as chemistry, biology, physics, materials science, and engineering
-Nanotechnology prefers to build a statue out of a pile of dust because it depends on nature,
which joins small-sized molecules using chemistry. The dust pile is used here to build a pile of
nanoparticles that can pull the particles we need out. By using chemistry, all of these cells can be
assembled to create this statue. We can see, for example, that our nature has created something
like a beach and is made of tiny particles of dust called sand.
5. What does nature show about building organisms from the bottom up?
-Our universe's whole observable history shows that nature constructs from the bottom up. In
other words, it's evolving! Right down from the evolution of chemical elements in the first stars
to the Internet's latest evolution.
There are certainly occasional apparent top-down mechanisms - the possible evolution of viruses
from organisms with a lipid cell wall is an example of biology.
Yet the final result can also be seen to be bottom-up in these cases.
6. How can chemistry help in nanotechnology?
-Chemistry is actually really important for nanotechnology. We need to find a way of making the
materials smaller, or a single tiny molecule, in order to miniaturize technology. Who's studying
molecules? Chemists. So, in chemistry, there is a lot of interest in finding out how to get a single
molecule or a very small set of molecules to serve as circuits, capacitors, resistors and magnets.
- Chemistry help nanotechnology by figuring and allowing on how to get and arrange a single
molecule which has a property that suit for the materials needed for developing a faster
technology.
3. Philosophical discussion
The report demonstrates a new method to control the flow of light of nanolight. Optical manipulation
on the nanoscale, or nanophotonics, has become a critical area of interest as researchers seek ways to
meet the increasing demand for technologies that go well beyond what is possible with conventional
photonics and electronics.
The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and REO developed
the world's first 'nanobubble water' technology that allows both fresh-water fish and saltwater fish to
live in the same water.
New Hot nano-chisel used to create artificial bones in a Petri dish
York
Scientists detail a system allowing them to sculpt, in a biocompatible material, the exact
structure of the bone tissue, with features smaller than the size of a single protein -- a billion
times smaller than a meter.
Japan Silicon anode structure generates new potential for lithium-ion batteries
Instead of using graphite for the anode, the researchers turned to silicon: a material that stores
more charge but is susceptible to fracturing. The team deposited silicon atoms on top of
metallic nanoparticles to form an arched nanostructure, increasing the strength and structural
integrity of the anode. Electrochemical tests showed the batteries had a higher charge
capacity and longer lifespan.
USA Nanotech plastic packaging could leach silver into some types of foods and beverages
Antimicrobial packaging is being developed to extend the shelf life and safety of foods and
beverages. However, there is concern about the transfer of potentially harmful materials, such as
silver nanoparticles, from these types of containers to consumables. Now, researchers illustrate that
silver embedded in an antimicrobial plastic can leave the material and form nanoparticles in foods
and beverages, particularly in sweet and sugary ones
