A leveling off of expectation was done right after the preliminaries and rationale of the activity.
The participants were made to tell their expectations of the activity, expectations from the
facilitator and also with their co-participants. Each table was asked with their expectations. Most
of the participants answered that the training is important to them because they can use it in
handling their members better especially the hardheaded ones and the training will also give
them additional insights and techniques on how to manage their cooperative better. As usual,
they expected the resource speakers to be composed and accommodating meanwhile they
expected their co-members and co-participants to be attentive and cooperative to the resource
speaker and to the topics to be discussed.

After this, discussion followed and the resource speaker Ms. Maila de Guia answered the
questions and interest raised by the participants during the first part of the activity she said that
the expectations raised was for another training because in the specific training module in will
merely focus on how they can improve themselves to handle their cooperative and other
members better. The first topic presented to them was all about values and how values mold us
to be the leader we want to be, the speaker explained that values and leadership will be always
go hand in hand, because the values that we have reflects on what leaders what we are also.
She presented the influences where we get the values that we have now and given examples of
various traits and values that us Filipinos usually have. After the discussion the speaker gave an

individual activity to the participants entitled discovering oneself, she asks the participants to
answer three personal questions and made them share it to body after, most the answer was
more on personal on how they see themselves years from now, they all want to have their
families to be settled and okay by that time because for them it is considered as success to
them. The discussion continued during the afternoon session were participants informed of
different situations that we usually encounter and practiced being leaders, most of the attendee
were able to relate in into their perspective.

At the second day of the training a recap was made thru a passing game, each participant was
made to pass a cabbage like paper with questions to be answered, all of the participants were
able to answer the questions a manifestation that the learnings they got during the first session
were retained to them. A discussion followed regarding leadership, Ms. De Guia the speaker
explained that she had to present first the values yesterday because the leadership is based on
the values that the leaders have. She presented the difference between a boss and a leader, and
she asked everyone if they are a boss or a leader, she made it clear that it is better to be a leader
rather than being a boss because leader leads by example and it is needed in a cooperative due
to in a cooperative all of them are owners and it is important to have a collective effort to
sustain the life of the cooperative.

At the end part of activity, participants were given opportunity to share their impressions to the
concluded training. They shared that this activity will help improve on how they manage their
cooperative, on how they reflect on each decision that they will made moving forward for the
betterment of their respective cooperatives and most of them admitted that being a leader is
tiresome at times because of their irate members and co-owners but they will apply the training
in turning the negative traits of their members into positive for them to have a harmonious
operation of their cooperative.
