Rules Leonardo Da Vinci International Choral Festival July 2021 Online and Virtual Edition
CONCEPT
APPLICATION
ENROLLMENT FEE
The Festival enrollment fee for each Choir is 200 euros for the first category
and 150 euros for every additional category, non refundable.
The fee must be paid within 5 days after the application by bank transfer.
After submission, we will send you our bank account details for payment.
FESTIVAL STRUCTURE AND PROGRAM
All groups participating in the Festival will perform in two stages:
1. Competition
2. Concerts
- Grand Prix Competition for the finalist choirs. A numerous and highly
qualified International Jury will be announced shortly.
The videos must have been filmed recently (2017-2021), live at concerts or
rehearsals. The video must be owned by the choir itself and recorded without
the aid of audio post-production.
The video files must be sent to our organization by WeTransfer (preferred) at:
[email protected] or uploaded using Google Drive or Baidu
Cloud.
IMPLEMENTATION PROCEDURES
Each choral group may subscribe to one or more categories, following a
request for participation by completing an application form.
CATEGORIES
The choirs that achieve 80,01 points or higher, will be admitted at the Grand
Prix Competition.
During the Grand Prix the Choirs will perform two pieces of free chosen
repertoire lasting between 7 and 10 minutes of pure singing time The pieces
must be different from the one performed in the categories.
The decisions of the Jury are final.
The Jury, after consideration of all artistic matters, may not award some
prizes or may award joint or additional prizes.

PRIZES
In each category the Jury will assign the following prizes:
1st place: 400 Euros, Gold Medal, Diploma
2nd place: Silver Medal, Diploma
3rd place: Bronze Medal, Diploma
SPECIAL PRIZES
Grand Prix for the Best Choir of the Festival: 1.500 Euros and “La
Battaglia di Anghiari” by Leonardo Da Vinci (faithful reproduction
expressly made by a notable Florentine artist for the Festival)
Best Conductor: Trophy and Diploma
Best Male Soloist: Trophy and Diploma
Best Female Soloist: Trophy and Diploma
Best Performance of Italian Composer's Work: Trophy and Diploma
Best Performance of Contemporary Composer’s Work: Trophy and
Diploma
Best Choreography: Trophy and Diploma
Best Traditional Costumes: Trophy and Diploma
ADJUDICATING CRITERIA
Performances will be judged by the international jury whose members
include conductors, opera singers and composers.
Choirs will be judged according to the following criteria:
- Intonation
- Vocal Emission
- Interpretation
- Dynamics
- Repertoire
- Text Clarity and Articulation
- Overall Artistic Effect
According to the mark achieved, Bronze, Silver and Gold Diplomas will
be awarded. If the choir does not achieve a Diploma (mark under 65,01) it will
receive a certificate of participation. Each member of the Jury will write
a report containing reviews and impressions about the performed
repertoire of the choirs. The reports will be sent to the choirs by
email.
The choirs that achieve 80,01 points or higher, will be admitted at the Grand
