Introduction:
The results of research and studies that dealt with adolescence indicate
that this stage of growth is very critical due to its many disorders and conflicts, in
which the problem of searching for identity that may reflect the beginning of the
teenager's inability to deal with others or control himself,. It is full of problems,
tensions, pain and psychological conflicts, which is due in its entirety to the
various factors of frustration and conflict that the teenager is exposed to in his life
in the family and at school, and in the society which he belongs to, such as
psychological struggles, social pressures, and the nature of choices and decisions,
which pushes the teenager to psychological rebellion if the educational methods
deviate in dealing with him by the parents or who represent his authority, so the
teenager resort to rebellion on all aspects of parental and school authority.
Accordingly, Self-Regulation of individuals is considered a protective
bulwark against behavioral deviations and psychological disorders, as well as from
the ease of falling under the influence of negative situations and situations, and the
results of a large number of studies indicated that one of the features of good
psychological compatibility is the individual's ability to control his behavior,
environment, thoughts and feelings.
Self-Regulation helps individuals organize their thoughts, behaviors,
feelings, and the environment surrounding them. Self-Regulation skills such as
setting goals, planning them, managing time, and monitoring and evaluating
oneself are essential not only to academic success, but they are an important
element in the lives of individuals who can solve the problems facing them,
modifying their behaviors, developing confidence in themselves and their abilities,
increasing their motivation to learn, and giving them the opportunity to set goals
and plan to achieve them.
The researcher was interested in reducing the intensity of the rebellion
among high school students through a counseling program based on Self-
