1 General Information
(1) System recovery includes operating system (Linux) recovery and ultrasound application
software (Doppler software) recovery.
(2) Determine current software version: turn on the machine, press Setup key and click on
[About]. Write down current UPG Version number.
(3) Consult Mindray for the latest software version and how to order or download the software
package.
(4) Depending on the software version, it is usually required to recover operating system (Linux)
and application software together.
(5) Always keep the machine connected to AC power during the software recovery.

2 You May Need the Following Items
USB flash drive with recovery software.
Note: If you download the recovery software zip file from a
website provided by Mindray, extract the zip file to an empty
USB flash drive with minimum 2GB capacity.
The application software ZIP file is located under the folder:
“SOFTWARE/Ultrasound Application Software”
The operating system software ZIP file is located under the
folder: “SOFTWARE/Operating System Software”.
Note: Please select the right download path in TDP according
to your model name.
Make the Recovery USB Flash Drive
(1) Format the USB flash drive.
1. Formatting the USB flash drive will erase ALL data on it. Backup the files on it first if necessary.
2. The system supports only FAT or FAT32 format USB disk, FAT32 format is recommended.
3. If there are many drives in USB disk, installation may fail.
4. Disconnect the extra USB devices to the machine.
Plug in the USB flash drive into a computer (here we take Windows operating system as an example).
Go to My Computer, right click on the USB flash drive (Removable Disk) icon and select Format.
Select FAT32 as File system, click on Start. Click on OK if it’s safe to erase all files on the USB
flash drive. A message “Format Compete” will be displayed shortly.

(2) Select the suitable method to copy the software package: you can download application software ZIP
file in the path “SOFTWARE/Ultrasound Application Software” and operating system recovery
software ZIP file in the path “SOFTWARE/Operating System Software” from TDP.
Note: Please select the right download path in TDP according to your model name.
a) If you want to recover Operating System and application software, extract the Operating System
software package ZIP file to the root directory of the USB flash drive, then Extract application
software package ZIP file to the “doppler” directory. Explore the USB flash drive on the
computer to make sure it has the following files and folders. The content may vary depending on
software version.
Comment:
¾ Doppler: Application software folder. Without this folder, only the operating system will be
installed.
¾ Sys: operation system data is placed here.
¾ Mrcs.sh: installation program.
¾ Version.txt: version file.
Furthermore, for "Doppler" directory, please make sure that "Doppler" (application software)
directory has following folders and files; otherwise, system can not find the route to recover
application software after operating system recovery. The content may vary depending on
software version.

¾ Data: Restore package data
¾ Demo: Demo Data (not included in Vet version).
¾ Boot_doppler.sh: implementation script
¾ product_info.ini: Configuration file
¾ CheckTool.exe: Checking integrity of application software package data.
¾ File_MD5.xml: MD5 value. If CheckTool.exe returns a same value with this file, the verification
is successful. Otherwise the verification fails.
b) If you only want to recover application software, extract the application software package ZIP
file to the root directory of the USB flash drive.
(3) Disconnect the USB drive from the computer.

3 Data Backup
3.1 Backup user presets
User presets may be erased during the recovery. Mindray strongly
recommends backing up user presets before the recovery.
The hospital information under Region tab, and all the network settings
including DICOM settings, will not be saved in the preset data file. You could capture
screenshots of the setting pages to keep a copy.
How to backup user presets to a USB flash drive:
Plug a USB flash drive into a USB port, press Setup key on the keyboard Æ [Manage Settings]
Æ [Export All] (on the bottom left). Select USB drive (usually it is Drive F). Type a name for the
preset data file and click on [OK].
3.2 Backup patient data
Even though patient data, including patient info, images, cine loops and reports,
usually will not be affected during the recovery, for safety consideration, Mindray
strongly recommends having all the patient data backed up before the recovery.
Mindray makes no guarantee that patient data or presets between software
versions are fully compatible.
Refer to operator’s manual for detailed instructions of how to backup and restore patient data.

4 Software Recovery
4.1 Operating System and Application Software Recovery
(1) If Linux operating system recovery is determined not necessary, please ignore this step and
continue to 4.2 Application Software Recovery.
(2) Turn off the DP-50. Disconnect all the USB devices connected to the DP-50. Plug in the
software recovery USB flash drive.
