As I read the Harmonized National R&D Agenda, the agenda consists NIBRA, under
the said sector there is Water Security. Water security has been defined as “the reliable
availability of an acceptable quantity and quality of water for health with an acceptable level
of water-related risks”. So why would I oppose if it is a program that appoint on National
advancement? This agenda could advance us into a sustainable atmosphere that is
advantageous to every one of us.
Sustainable development will not be achieved without a water secure world. A water
secure would integrates a concern for the intrinsic value of water with a concern for its use
for human survival and well-being. A water secure world harnesses water’s productive power
and minimizes its destructive force. Water security also means addressing environmental
protection and the negative effects of poor management. A water secure world reduces
poverty, advances education and increases living standards.
Key Inquiry Questions
The agenda I choose is Water Security because water security has emerged as a major
theoretical framework in environmental governance and resource management. An insecure
supply of clean water and safe access to freshwater and sanitation raises the dangers of
economic disruption. That is why this agenda is important because a water secure world
integrates a concern for the intrinsic value of water with a concern for its use for human
survival and well-being. A water secure world harnesses water’s productive power and
minimizes it destructive force. A water secure world reduces poverty, advances education and
increases living standards. It is a world where there is an improved quality of life for all.
2. What specific topic/issue you would like to address by the government and why? Do
you think this will give a positive impact to the development of our country?
The specific topic or issue that I want to address by the government is all about
Education because Education is analyzed as an vital role in society, where the organization of
teaching, learning and environment is habitually debated as aspect or main liable for the
development of people. Having a good education system, the school, institute and universities
must attain a good organization of learning and teaching for children and students. The key
role of organization of teaching and learning became multifarious where vast majority of
society think that the school is a most important responsible for teaching and learning of
students. The organization of environment at school given to the students should arise
healthy, not just physically but also mentally and socially. The comfort is required and the
classes must be well ventilated and huge enough to accommodate the students, however some
schools acquire smaller classes is basically obtain small group of students, then teacher will
have more flexibility for teaching and give individual attention to them. Overall to have a
good education system, the society and government must work as whole, because the outlook
of society and advancement of country is moderately reflected by the accomplishment of
students in their education.
3. Do you agree with the current S&T policies/thrusts/agenda of the government? Why
or why not?
Yes, because after all this policies promotes appropriate funding to advance scientific
and technological research and education, also studies the impact of science and technology
upon its citizenry and prescribe regulation. Under that we have Policy Development and
Advancement which aims to analyzed, review, formulate and recommend policies and
regulation to support the development of priority sectors of PCIEERD. The Information
Dissemination which facilitate access and utilization of information and research results by
the industry, the business sector and other potential technology users. The Support for
Technology Transfer that provides support for accelerating transfer and commercialization of
technologies generated from PCIEERD supported projects and developed network
institutions. And the Institution Development that aims to strengthen the capability of
institutions to undertake research in S&T fields in PCIEERD priority areas.
