Fitness is a universal concern. In whatever activities and undertakings you do, your
fitness should always be taken into account if you are to perform them effectively
and effecietly. Fitness is not only for athletes, sportsmen, PE teachers and fitness
instructors but also a concern for students, parents and other members of the
community.

PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST
Physical fitness testing is a part of the process to educate students of the
importance of wellness of the body, mind, and spirit through well-selected
activities.
The ability to function and performing your day to day chores comfortably and
effectively throughout the workday as well as handling extra emergencies as
well as stress exercises without breaking a sweat is known as Physical
fitness.
A. HEALTH-RELATED TEST
This test was specifically designed to test a student's abilities concerning
muscular endurance, muscular strength, muscular flexibility, and
cardiovascular endurance.

COMPONENTS
1. Cardiovascular endurance – The body’s ability to deliver oxygen
and nutrients to tissues and organs and the ability to utilize them over
sustained periods of time.
2. Muscular strength - The ability of your muscles to exert force.
3. Muscular endurance - The ability of your muscles to exert force
over an extended period of time.
4. Flexibility - The ability to move our joints and muscles through their
full range of motion.
5. Body composition - The amount of fat on a person as compared to
the net body mass is known as the body composition.

B. SKILL-RELATED TEST
This is a series of test to identify and improves one's abilities to perform sport-
related skills and to become a better athlete.

COMPONENTS
1. Agility is the ability to change the position and to control the
movement of
your whole body.
2. Balance is the ability to keep an upright posture while either
standing still
or moving.
3. Coordination is the integration of eye, hand, and foot movements.
4. Power is the ability to do strength performances at a rapid pace.
5. Reaction Time is the amount of time it takes to get moving once a
person
senses the signal to move.
6. Speed is the ability to cover a distance in a short time.

Activity 2: Start Being Fit- Stretch it out

In this activity, you will perform basic stretching and warm up exercises to
condition your body in performing a variety of fitness activities.

Procedure:
1. Perform warm up routine exercise for atleast a minimum of 2 minutes
and a maximum of 5 minutes video and send it to your Mapeh Teacher.
You can search online for the routine be creative and wear proper attire
in doing so.

The Warming Effect
An effective warm up exercise should:
- Increase blood flow to the muscles;
- Increase Muscle elasticity;
- Gently raise heart rate;
- Increase mental alertness; and;
- Increase core body temperature.
