LASIP NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
Lingayen
It was attended by Brgy. Capt. Camilo N. Oris, PTA officers, Jan Miichael Villa from
RHU Lingayen, parents and guardians of the students, and faculty members headed by the
principal Dr. Lilia S. Cano. The program started with the singing of the Philippine National
Anthem and a prayer led by Mr. Jojit Ferrer. To formally open the assembly, Mrs. Erylene L.
De Guzman gave the opening remarks.
It was then followed by Nurse Jan Michael Villa about the Immunization of the grade
7 students. He explained to the parents that they should not be hesitant in allowing their
child/children to be immunized because it has nothing to do with the devangxia
controversy. He elaborated that the immunization to be given next week is on anti -
measles and anti - tetanus. He encouraged those parents who signed ‘No’ on the waiver to
grab this opportunity for it is free. Some parents of the grade 7 learners raised questions
and were eagerly answered by Nurse Michael. The discussion on this matter lasted for half
an hour.
Brgy. Capt. Camilo N. Oris of Barangay Lasip delivered a short talk to the parents. His
discussion fell on those learners who cut classes and are being caught by the barangay
tanods. He included in his message how the community can help the school trace those
learners who always cut classes. Aside from the CCTV, their barangay tanods will roam
around on school days and pick up those learners who idle under trees or at a computer
shop and report it to the principal’s office. He also shared to the parents the proposed
extension of the covered court as the project of the barangay officials and PTA officers.
After the short talk of Brgy Capt. Oris, the Reiteration of the School’s Rules and
Regulations followed. The three department heads reiterated some rules and regulations:(1)
the use of mobile phones during class hours (2) not wearing of proper uniform, (3) not
having a proper haircut and wearing of earrings for male students, and (4) wearing of
dangling earrings for girls. They said self-discipline would be one of the keys for the learners
to be successful in the near future.
Our principal, Dr. Lilia S. Cano delivered her message focusing on those students who
come to school late. She reminded the parents of the offenses to be prompted by the
learners starting next week. For first and second offenses, late learners will sign in the
logbook. If they still come to school late the third day, the guidance counselor designate will
call the attention of their parents through a letter. For the fourth offense, their parents will
be called upon to explain their child’s bad habit of coming to school late. She also reminded
the parents that learners must be at school at 7:15 A.M. on Mondays and on the rest of the
school days at 7:30 A.M. Parents and teachers agreed upon that the guard will give late
learners an allowance of 15 minutes after 7:30 A.M. before closing the school gate. Our
principal including the teachers hoped that this agreement will eliminate the number of late
learners. She then thanked the PTA Officers, teachers and parents for their presence in the
meeting. She encouraged the parents to continue supporting the school for the welfare of
their children.
Meeting adjourned at 4:00 P.M. Parents and teachers went respectively to the
classrooms for the card distribution.
