1. Line graph:
The line graph below shows the percentage of tourists to England who visited four different
attractions in Brighton.

The line graph illustrates the percentage of visitors to England who visited four unique attractions in
Brighton between 1980 and 2010.
Overall, the proportion of tourists fluctuate continually in each attraction over the period shown.
In 1980, the number of travelers visiting the festival attraction accounted for 30% which was the highest
in Brighton. However, the art gallery and pavilion were not as attractive as the festival, the proportion of
people who went there were lower, at about 22% and 24% respectively. Pier attraction had the lowest
percentage of tourists visiting Brighton, was only 10%.
From 1980 to 2010, the proportion of tourists choosing to visit the pavilion surged and peaked at about
48% in 1995, and then gradually fell at around 30% in 2010. Similarly, the art gallery grew rapidly to
about 37% in 1985 and then also significantly reduced to the lowest figure, only about 9% in 2010.
Meanwhile, the festival and the pier had slight variations with the percentage of travelers at about 27%
and 22% respectively in 2010.

2. Bar chart:
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

The bar chart compares the total amount of money that every income groups spend on fast foods in the
UK in 1990.
It is evident that there were many differences in the number of pence that people spent on each group of
fast food.
High-income people spent the most money on the hamburger, reached about 42 pence per week in
comparison with pizza, and fish and chips were 19 and 17 pence. Meanwhile, hamburgers also consumed
most in the average income group at 32 pence, the second position was fish and chips with 25 pence per
week, and 12 pence on pizza.
The low-income group spent the lowest amount of each type of fast food. People in this group spent more
money on fish and chips than the rest, at around 16 pence per week. Their spending on hamburger and
pizza were very low, at 14 and only 6 pence respectively.

3. Table:
The table below shows the proportion of different categories of families living in poverty in
Australia in 1999.
Proportion of people from each
Family type
household type living in poverty
single aged person 6% (54,000)
aged couple 4% (48,000)
single, no children 19% (359,000)
couple, no children 7% (211,000)
sole parent 21% (232,000)
couple with children 12% (933,000)
all households 11% (1,837,000)

The table illustrates the data about poverty among six separate sorts of the family in Australia in 1999.
It is obvious that the percentage of poverty of couples and people with children are lower than single
people and those without children.
The proportion of single people who lived in poverty accounted for 19%, whereas people in the couple
group was much lower, at only 7%. Similarly, the number of single parents were living in extremely poor
conditions reached 21%, which over one fifth of people living in Australia, while a family which had
enough parents and children was just at about 12%.
Single aged people and the aged couple were two categories of families which had the lowest figure for
living in poverty, about 6% and 4% respectively. Overall, 1,837,000 people accounted for 11% of
Australians were living in poverty in 1999.

4. Pie chart:
The two pie charts below show the online shopping sales for retail sectors in Canada in 2005 and
2010.

The pie charts compare the figure for internet shopping sales for four different retail areas in Canada,
namely in 2005 and 2010.
It is clear that the proportion of each sector through online sales changed fundamentally from 2005 to
2010. The percentage of electronics and appliances and home furnishings tended to go down, whereas the
rest went up.
The figure for the online sales of electronics and appliances declined from 2005 to 2010, by 35% fell to
30%. Similarly, sales through the internet also decreased by 10% in the home furnishings sector, from the
2005 figure of 25%.
In contrast, there was a growth in the proportion of the two other areas. In 2005, the percentage of
internet sales of food and beverage by 22% rose to 32% in 2010. And the final sector, video games, also
increased their figure of online shopping sales by 5%, from 18% in 2005 to 23% in 2010.

5. Map:
The maps below show the changes in a town after the construction of a hydroelectric power dam.

The map illustrates the modifies after a hydroelectric power dam was built up in a town from 1990 to
2010.
Overall, significant changes were made in the town, the agricultural village had transformed into a
commercial town after 20 years.
In 1990, there were many mountains in the south-west and rare plants and animals in the west on the
map. However, in 2010, these things vanished entirely, and a lot of electricity poles were constructed
there. Similarly, after the construction of the hydroelectric power dam, the flow of the river was
interrupted, the ancient structure and the forest were converted into a lake in the North. In addition, the
irrigated farmlands in the middle east were changed to electricity poles, whereas mountains in the south-
east were disappeared. The villages behind the irrigated farmlands were relocated from the middle east to
towards the riverbank in the south. A big hotel also was built towards the right of the fishing lake.

6. Diagram:
The diagram below shows the water cycle, which is the continuous movement of water on, above
and below the surface of the Earth.

The above process presents the steps that contribute to forming the water cycle in nature.
It is apparent that the circulation of water is formed by three key stages, namely, water evaporation and
cloud formation, falls as rain or snow, and saltwater intrusion which completes the cycle.
The process of the water cycle begins with the evaporation of water. The information on the diagram
indicates that 80% of water vapour in the air is originated from the ocean. After the water in the cloud
gets cold, water vapour condenses to form a cloud. The second stage is that the waterfalls from the sky as
rain or snow, which is called precipitation.
After the two above stages, the water sinks into the surface and also collects into lakes, ground, or oceans.
Rainwater creates surface runoff, and then the groundwater passes into the ocean. Finally, the salt water
intrusion which is the movement of saline water into freshwater aquifers finishes the water cycle.
