•  KPI’s  offer  the  informa<on  required  to  make  decisions
and  plan  work.
Ques%ons  that  KPIs  Should  answer
•  What  are  we  doing  well?
•  What  are  we  doing  not  so  well?
•  What  could  be  improved?
KPI  Best  Prac%ces
•  What  Makes  a  good  KPI?
–  Does  the  informa<on  need  to  be  monitored  frequently?
–  Does  the  Data  have  a  specified  outcome?

KPI  Best  Prac%ces
•  Performance  Issues:  KPI’s  on  a  users  start  center  are
run  (re-‐queried)  every  <me  any  user  logs  into
Maximo.
•  Slow  Start  Center  Load  can  be  caused  by:
–  Overloading  with  KPI’s
–  Poor  KPI  Design.
•  Always  use  the  most  efficient  query  possible  when
building  KPI’s.
KPI’s  vs  Data
•  KPI’s  are  only  as  good  as  the  data  in  Maximo.
•  Accurate  KPI’s  need  current  and  accurate  data.
Building  KPI’s
•  KPI’s  are  built  in  the  KPI
Manager  Applica<on.
