Background of The Study

The document discusses a study on reusing surplus water from water refilling stations for laundry shops to address excessive water usage and waste. The study aims to reduce wasted water, maximize water use, and reduce excessive usage by piping surplus purified water from refilling stations to nearby laundry shops for their needs.

A.

Background of the study

What is the identified research problem?

- With the increasing cost of water and waste discharge, more companies are
looking to recover and reuse water. Water has become more and more a
commodity than just a basic necessity. Traditional water supply facilities
include piped water systems, communal taps, and point sources. Alternative
schemes, such as vended water, bottled water, household use of water
purifiers, and water refilling stations are available for population with no
access to water supply systems and for the served population with doubts
about the water quality of the systems. Over the years, as the demand for
cleaner water becomes higher, the price of household water purifiers and
bottled water has become prohibitive.

Why is there a need to do the study about the said problem?

- The demand of clean water is increasing and a typical water refilling station
can produce 3,000 to 12,000 liters of purified water per day and many liters
of water are wasted every day because in every 4 liters of potable water,
there is only 1 liter to be purified and the surplus water will be disposed.
The proponents wanted to reuse this surplus water for the laundry shop
because the front load can use up to 14 to 25 gallons or 53 liters to 94.6
Liters of water which is enough to make a laundry shop.

What made the researchers decide to do the study?

- We the researchers made to decide to make the study because of excessive

usage in every water refilling stations.
B. Statement of the problem
- In the filtration process there a is 80 % of the water that the machine
receives is wasted and only 20 % of the water is made available for
drinking purpose
Objectives:
 To reduce the water that is being wasted
 To maximize the use of the water
 To reduce the excessive water usage

C. Significance of the Study

- In communities all around the world, water supplies are coming under
increasing pressure as population growth, climate change, pollution, and
changes in land use affect water quantity and quality. The significant of this
study is to reduce the water disposal and reuse it as water for a laundry
shop. It can help to conserve water in the community of Tarlac City and it
can give a profit to both water refilling station and laundry shop. The
researcher of this service also wants to make an action in conserving water
to the community because sometimes we experience some water shortages.
D. Scope and Limitations
- We the researchers only covered in Tarlac City and only focused in Water
refilling stations because of limited resources and the vast area here in
Tarlac Province.
