territory of their nation.
Ans 4) 2. Grandpas
Ans 6) True
Ans 7)The poet wants to learn why the walls of separation were built between the villages and nations
by the history
Ans 8) Simile
Ans 10)Only those who can endure the open space and can adjust in them are allowed to live in.
Ans 11)He will offer a memorial prayer to the people who will die, who doesn’t accept living in the new
house.
Ans 2)The people who have raised their hands against these walls have been killed or injured (bloodied)
and the others who have done so to the people were ruling over the nations and their flags were hosted
high. Basically things ended up with wars and battles in the history.
Ans 3)He thought that the walls built around villages by the grandpas of that age were to protect human
beings and mankind. He had a doubt that were the walls need to be that hardened to protect human
beings, wars have been fought regarding these walls and many have shed their blood too.
Ans 4)Once the walls are demolished new houses will take birth, which are spacious and lovely. Only
those who endure the beauty will be welcomed to live in them while others will be welcomed to die and
the poet will just sing a memorial prayer to them and will move on.
Ans 2)According to my opinion the poet believes in the war free and happy future of the world where all
the human beings are living peaceful and joyful lives and that’s what we pass on to the next
generations and not the walls. He says that he will demolish each and every wall built in the way of
togetherness to make people separate and once he has done that he will build new houses there for the
people who support his rational thinking and the others would be welcome to die. Yes I think that the
poet was very optimistic at the end of the poem by hoping this very perfect future of mankind which I
believe is totally correct and worth. The walls built in our mind are not allowing us to be in love with
everyone and have peace in the world. These need to be broken and then and then only world will be a
better place to live and grow.
Ans 3)We, people usually build walls of our houses to have a sense of security and safety, for our own
decorations and beauty and sometimes even to show off. But in the poem “WALL” the poet-D. S.
Dadhelkar is talking about the walls built by our ancestors to create boundaries between nations literally
and within the people’s mind metaphorically on the basis of caste, creed, religion, race, color, gender,
etc. These walls need to be demolished as for world peace because many wars and battles have been
fought in the history for these walls, violence and bloodshed was seen in the past as well as can be seen
in the present and for it not to be seen in the future we need to demolish these walls. The walls we built
are for the sense of security and safety we get and for our privations but the walls that have been built
by our grandpas of that generation for nations or within minds needs to be broken. That’s what the poet
is trying to say in the poem. When he saw the history of the walls he was surprised of what they have
done in the world and that’s why even today people are kept within the walls, which needs to be
demolished.
