We live in a trouble time which is the time of pandemic. We all want’s the better future for our country
to overcome the pandemic or covid-19 virus diseases. No matter what kind of nation your home it will
probably affected by the spread of virus diseases. Neither you are rich or poor you will never escape the
deadly diseases that has been spread in our nation. In the 5th State of the Nation Address (SONA) of
president Rodrigo Roa Duterte he stated first a hit for Senator Frank Drilon and ABS- CBN, which he said
that senator Drilon was one of those who take advantage of a pre-occupied government while the
government focuses its attention and resources to battle the coronavirus. Then, he said that media is a
powerful tool in the hand of oligarchs like how the Lopezes who used their media outlets in their battles
with political figures. After the discussion of president Duterte about the illegal drugs and corrupt he
also consider the words of our former President Ramon Magsaysay which one of this was If we allow
greed, self-interest and ambition to rule us, then as stated by one prominent physician, we will ―be left
with nothing better than the lesser evil instead of the greater good. Then, he also stated that Over 4.3
million poor families benefited from the Pantawid Pamilyang Program and President Duterte commends
the initiative and work of Senator Bong Go. He said there are currently 75 Malasakit Centers in the
country that these will ensure how the people remain healthy and supported. Thus, the Salary
Standardization Law of 2019 was been stated by president Duterte to increases the salary of civilian
government worker that can inspire them to perform better and encourage young, brilliant citizens to
join public service. Duterte said frontline processes including consular processes and business permits,
among others, were streamlined. Duterte assured that the government will protect the rights of
children. "Part of our efforts to uphold human rights is the protection of the rights of children.
Government efforts to protect the right of children will be amplified to prevent, reduce and eliminate
any form of child labor”. Also, Duterte thanked the military, police and security guards for working to
keep peace and order in the community. Duterte thanked also the local government units for stepping
up and initiating their own response against Covid-19. He said he is praying that the officials will set
aside partisan politics and do what is good for all and President Duterte thanked members of Congress
for "the effort you have invested in passing" the he Bayanihan to Heal as One Act. Duterte assured that
the government will help the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), saying he had tasked Tesda to come up
with trainings that will retool the OFWs. He said he also called on Ched for scholarship programs for
qualified dependents of OFWs and also called on DA and DTI to come up with agribusiness and
entrepreneurship to help the displaced OFWs, while he tasked Landbank and other government
financial institutions to provide low interest loans to OFWs. Then he stated that the government will
intensify its efforts to help businesses, especially our micro, small and medium enterprises or MSMEs,
by providing responsive government assistance and services, capitalization, and business operations
support as we adapt to the next normal, Also he enjoin the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and banks
operating in the country to provide regulatory relief for our MSMEs and allow loan payment

committed to protecting both the physical and digital lives of the Filipinos and he reiterated that he will
not allow the traditional face-to-face teaching unless there is Covid-19 vaccine. "I cannot put the lives of
our teachers and students at risk”. Duterte assured that the government will hire and deploy more than
20,000 health professionals to isolated and disadvantaged areas, and at the same time improve
barangays and rural health unit’s facilities and he emphasized the creation of the Department of
Disaster Resilience and People's Safety, saying this must be created before another major disaster would
hit the Philippines. Later on, after the other discussion he said that Filipinos have no other choice but to
work together. He said the government is not perfect, "there could be improvements here and there,"
but he assured that the government "will not stop until we get things right." and also he said that “My
faith in the Filipino innate patience, resilience and determination to bounce back is unwavering. Let us
share our blessings with those who have little and those who have none. This is the time to bring out the
best in us.” In the end of the SONA of President Duterte we all know what will the best to do for our
country and nation. We will survive and overcome this pandemic if all of as unite as one and help each
other to look forward at our future country.
