This document discusses the constitution in homeopathy. It defines constitution as the physical, emotional, and intellectual traits a person inherits from ancestors and acquires from the environment. It notes that constitution is constant and not modified by external or internal processes. Understanding a patient's constitution is important in homeopathy as it provides insights for diagnosis, prognosis, treatment selection, and understanding the psychological and pathological aspects of a case. The document describes two classification systems of constitution - Grauvogl's system of carbonitrogenoid, hydrogenoid, and oxygenoid types and Leon Vannier's system of carbonic, phosphoric, and fluoric types. It provides the characteristics of each type in these two systems.
