ABSTRACT
Today, vacuum is the most helpful and a really common household cleanup tool that
uses a suction mechanism to wash the dirt. During this Instructable, we'll find out
how to create a robust vacuum at home . This vacuum is supplied with a
separate dirt instrumentality and since it's equipped with a plastic dirt collector, it may
also be changed to figure as a Wet & Dry vacuum.
The goal is to create an electrical household appliance employing a 12V battery. We
tend to finished that 12V battery is enough to create an electrical vacuum instead
of victimization battery of upper Volts .So that 12V battery works effectively and
simply. The machine functions even higher by victimization low volts machines.
Materials used build the vacuum cleaner are:2litre plastic bottle, dc motor, switch, m-
seal, one bottle cap, an empty deodorant can and an empty Otrivin plastic bottle.

The capacity of a vacuum cleaner can be measured by several parameters:

 Airflow (l/s)
 Airspeed (m/s)
 Suction (Pa)
 Vacuum (Pa)
 Weight (kg)
 Noise (dB)
 Power Cord Length

INTRODUCTION
A vacuum cleaner is a device that uses a pump to make a partial vacuum to suck
up mud and dirt, typically from floors, and from different surfaces like upholstery and
draperies. The dirt is collected by either a vacuum bag  for disposal. Vacuum
cleaners, that are utilized in homes moreover as in business, exist in a very kind
of sizes and models tiny powered hand-held devices like domestic central household
appliance, Brobdingnagian stationary industrial appliances which
will handle many hundred litres of mud before being empty, and self-propelled vacuum
trucks for recovery of enormous spills or removal of contaminated soil.

Specialised shop vacuums is used to suck up both mud and liquids. The birth of

the vacuum cleaner is thanks to variety of advancements in science and
technology caused by the commercial Revolution. By the middle 1800s factories
were manufacturing tens of thousands of factory-made things along side plenty
of pollution.

COMPONENTS
Materials used to build a vacuum are the following:

 a plastic bottle

 tiny plastic bottle

 DC motor

 M-seal glue

 fan

  A suction pipe

 Mesh

1. PLASTIC BOTTLE:
A plastic bottle could be a bottle created from plastic. Plastic
bottles are generally accustomed store liquids. Here in building a vacuum
cleaner, it's the fundamental material that acts as mechanical support.

6
2.  Tiny (OTRIVIN) PLASTIC BOTTLE:
It's used to build a nozzle. The bottom of bottle is formed hole and it's affixed to
the pipe to create a nozzle in order that it helps in intake the dirt by its gap.
3. DC MOTOR:
It helps to run the exhaust fan.
4. EXHAUST FAN:
An empty deodorant is useful in creating a pleasant flat sheet of metal through
that an exhaust fan is created .As the fan blades flip, they force air forward,
toward the fan. The density of particles will increase before the fan and reduces
behind the fan, when air particles are driven forward.
5. M-SEAL GLUE:
It is used to place and fix the motor within the bottle and additionally it acts as
glue material within which the fan is affixed to the motor rod.
6. SUCTION PIPE:
Suction pipe together with a little plastic bottle helps in creating a nozzle through
which dust is sucked.
7. MESH:
It helps in preventing the dirt that enters into the fan chamber. it's optional to use
however it's suggested.

Working principle of the vacuum cleaner

Materials flow from one location to a different when a pressure distinction is made
between two locations. This development is the the basic working rule of a perfect
vacuum cleaner. Once a centrifugal fan rotates it makes the air to flow by adding it
to the external kinetic energy. Air is sucked from behind and pushed forward with
pressure and then negative pressure is created behind the fan. An ideal vacuum
cleaner has such centrifugal fan in it which is connected to a motor. This unit has
suction and discharge connections, on the suction aspect filter bag is fitted before the
hose affiliation. The discharge has another air setup filter and opened to the
atmosphere. Once the electrical power is given the motor rotates and then the
centrifugal fan. Air from the suction side is sucked into it, beside the air all air born
particles, waste matter, mist, dirt, and tiny solid particles are carried to the suction

7
filter. They're trapped within the filter and dirt free air is pushed out from the
discharge gap.

PROCEDURE OF MAKING VACUUM CLEANER

STEP: 1 PLASTIC BOTTLE CUTTING
Plastic Bottle is a container for mud. All the elements like a motor, filter, battery are
fitted within the bottle. We take that one empty drink bottle and cut that bottle at the
sting of the bottle.

STEP:2 VACUUM CLEANER FAN CREATING

1) Take the metallic element sheet that we obtained from the deodorant bottle.
2) Take the above-cut plastic bottle and place above the sheet. Sketch round
the open circumference of the bottle with a marker pen.
3)  Now cut the marked piece out of the metal sheet to form an
exquisite spherical disc.
4) Take your steel ruler and draw four sets of vertical lines to
separate the spherical disc into eight equal components meeting at the middle of
the disc.
5) Make a hole at the middle of a spherical disc with the help of hammer and nail.
6) Leave a little area from the outlet. This will turn out eight wings coupled by a
little section of the disc.
7) Cut this all with the use of cutter. Now twist the wings at precisely in
the identical direction to make  fan blades.

Step 3: ATTACHING THE FAN TO MOTOR

1.Take the DC motor and attach the ball purpose pen refill to the rotating rod and
press it tightly.
2.Cut the surplus portion of refill and then take the previously prepared fan and fix
it to the refill inserting the refill portion into the opening of the fan.
3.Apply hot glue for additional strength round the joint. Fan is prepared

Step 4: Placing the Fan in the Plastic Bottle Bottom Portion

1.In the bottom portion create a spherical portion with the marker that holds the
motor at the centre.

8
2.Use soldering rod or any heated to create holes on the entire bottom of the bottle
that's useful for holding suction air outside.

3.Then create an enormous hole on the trace to mend the motor after inserting the
outlet ,apply hot glue and fix the motor within the hole placing fan side within the
bottle and connecting a part of motor outside it.

Step 5: Fixing Bottle and Attaching Using Plaster

Take the cloth and place the highest portion of plastic bottle on the first aid cloth and
trace spherical slightly more than bottle and using double sided tape fix it to the
bottle and fix the two parts of the bottle using a tape.

Step 6: Making Suction Pipe

Take the bottle cap and create a hole and place a wire pipe that bends in the
direction and fix it to the cap and on the opposite end fix the small plastic bottle as
shown within the figure and fix it to the bottle.

Step-7 FINAL STEP

For decoration purpose we added plaster and a handle using the card board sheet and
connect the motor with wires and switch on vacuum cleaner.

CONCLUSION-
Usage of lesser volts within the system will increase the potency and performance of the
vacuum technology.

FUTURE REFERENCE-
 rather than exploitation water bottles we can also use of PVC pipes to extend its
sturdiness.

 it's even better to use motor with lesser volts because it will increase the efficiency of the
machine. because the potency will increase performance additionally.
