“Good Morning Class.” “Good morning Ms. Buntag, good morning

classmates.”

“Okay, sit down.” “Thank you, Ma’am.

2. Roll Call:
“Say present if you name is called.”
“Banga, “Present Ma’am!”
Basil, “Present Ma’am!”
Cubelo, “Present Ma’am!”
Dacera, “Present Ma’am!”
Dagsa…” “Present Ma’am!”

3. Review:
“Soils have different physical properties. What are (A student volunteers to answer)
those properties?” “The soil’s physical properties are their texture,
color, structure, shapes and moisture.”

“Very good!”
“What else aside from that?” (A student volunteers to answer)
“Soil profile, soil consistence, and bulk density
Ma’am.”
“Perfect!”

4. Motivation:
“I will show you some pictures of soil physical
appearances and give a caption or what can you
say about the pictures.”

“What can you say about the first photo?” (A student will be called to answer)
“In that photo, the soil is loose and it looks like
circular granules.”

“That’s great!”

“And how about the next photo? Who can give a (A student volunteers to answer)
caption for that?” “The soil’s physical appearances in the photo are
it is hard and cracking, and it forms into blocks.”

“Very good!”
“And how about all the photos? What are their (A student volunteers to answer)
differences? Who can give a caption or description “They have differences in physical appearances.
for all of it?” Some are compacted and some are loose soils.”

“Very well!”
“What else aside from their appearances?” (A student volunteers to answer)
“They also differ in water absorption Ma’am.”

“Why do they differ in water absorption?” (A student will be called to answer)

“Because the loose soil absorbs water faster than
the compact soils.

“Absolutely!”
“And what do we call these soil physical (A student volunteers to answer)
properties?” “Soil structures, Ma’am.”

“That’s correct!”
“And that is our lesson for today, the soil
structures.”

5. Lesson Proper:
“Our objectives for this lesson are: At the end of
the lesson, you should be able to identify, illustrate
and compare the different soil structures. And you
should be able to appreciate the importance of
studying the soil structures. Is it clear?” “Yes, Ma’am.”

“When we talk about soil structures, what are soil (A student volunteers to read)
structures? Please read the description on the “Soil structures refer to how particles of soil are
screen.” grouped together into units.”

“Exactly!”
“And those units are called soil aggregates also
known as peds.”
