3. Software Configurations (Windows Only)


Step 1 - Download and extract the Device Center software for Ruptela Devices.

Step 2 - Download and install VCOM drivers from here.

32-bit operating system: launch dpinst_x86.exe
64-bit operating system: launch dpinst_amd64.exe

Step 3 – Launch DeviceCenter.exe from the extracted folder.

Step 4 – Insert the SIM card to the device and connect it to the computer using the mini USB
cable provided with the device. (Some cables might not support the drivers like USB to Serial
adapters)

Step 5 – Configurations of the device

Below given is the home page of the software.

Click on Configure device.


Click on Connect device. If a device is connected it will be directed to device selection menu.

Click on the device you


want to configure and click
next.

You will be directed to the above page. Click on Advanced mode.


Now you will be directed to the above page. Choose the corresponding COM port and click
on connect. The device will be connected to the software.

Before a new configuration begins download the current configuration and save it in your
computer. For that, click on Get CFG. The current configuration will be loaded. Save it by File
-> Save CFG.

If you have the configuration file (.fkfc file) with you just upload it to the device and you are
done. Goto File->Open CFG and browse your file. Then upload using Send CFG.

If not, follow the below steps.

Choose the protocol as TCP.

2 - APN settings
Insert the APN name.
Mobitel – mobitel3g
Dialog – dialogbb

3 - Connection settings
IP1 – 54.251.156.101 (Server address. Change this accordingly)
Port1 – 6055 (External port of servers)

4 – Send data without GPS fix


Click on options. Below window will open.

Tick send data without GPS fix.

Use time synchronization: GSM

Close after setting it.

5- Authorized numbers
Click on Options

Set a common password

Example: nimbus

Tick Enable configurations over SMS

If you set valid numbers, SMS configuration can only be


done using those numbers.

Close the
window.

6- Eco Drive

Tick Enable
Click on Options

This window will appear ->


Choose the profile as custom
Choose custom engine source as DIN2

For trucks
Choose the values given in the picture.

For light vehicles


Overspeeding limit -70
Harsh braking - 2.0
Extreme braking - 3.0
Harsh acceleration - 3.0
Cornering limit- 3.0
Idling delay - 360s
Idling speed - 5
Data source - ACC
Scroll down the page and get below settings.

1 - Click Profile 1

2 - Sleep
Set as Disabled.

3 - Data sending
Tick Enable
Min Records - 1
Period - 30s
Link Timeout - 300s
Link settings - Click on options

This window will open. Change the settings to these


given values.

4- Data collection
SD card logging interval: 0s
Time without engine - 30s
Engine - Choose custom. Then click on customize button below.

This window will appear. Tick only DIN2.

Close it after setting.

Untick Send only record header if triggered by time, distance or course.


Distance - 0
Time with engine
- 20s
Radial - 15 deg
5 - IO events
Click on Options
This window will
appear.
Click on first disabled line
(highlighted in blue)

Choose ID as DIN2. Then tick Enable under IO properties.


The window will appear like
this. Set below settings in the
same window.

Level - 0
Delta - 0
Debounce - 100ms
Event on - Hysteresis
Click On Rising
Priority - High
Switch to - 2nd Profile

Click on second disabled line (highlighted in


blue)

Following the same steps as


above Enable DIN1. Choose
the settings as below.

Debounce - 1000ms
Event on - Monitoring
Priority - Low
Switch to - No switch
Enable below events following the same steps.
-DIN3
-DIN4
-Ignition(DIN4)
-AIN
-AIN2
-Power supply voltage
-Battery voltage
-Current profile
-Virtual Odometer
-GSM/UMTS Signal level
-Movement sensor

Use the same settings as DIN1.

For 1-wire temperature sensors Enable


Temperature0, Temperature1 using the same
settings as DIN2. For only one sensor enable
Temperature0 only. Likewise you can enable
up to 4 temperature sensors.

Change below two to get


negative triggering input for
door status.

DIN3 mode - Ground mode

DIN4 mode - Ground mode

Untick Send I/O data with v1.1


protocol if it is ticked.

Close I/Osettings window.


1 - Click Profile 2

2 - Sleep
Set as Disabled.

3 - Data sending
Tick Enable
Min Records - 1
Period - 20s
Link Timeout - 300s
Link settings - Click on options

This window will open. Change the settings to


these given values.

4 - Data collection
SD card logging interval: 0s
Time without engine - 30s
Engine - Choose custom. Then click on customize button below.

This window will appear. Tick only DIN2.

Close it after setting.

Untick Send only record header if triggered by time, distance or course.

Time with engine - 20s
Radial - 15 deg

5 - IO events
Click on Options
Click on DIN2 and change below
settings (This part is only for Profile
2).
Level - 0
Delta - 0
Debounce - 100ms
Event on - Hysteresis
Click On Falling
Priority - High
Switch to - 1st Profile

All other IO events should be the


same as profile 1.(DIN1,DIN3,
Ignition(DIN4),AIN1,AIN2,
Power supply voltage,Battery
voltage,Current profile,Virtual
Odometer,GSM/UMTS
operator,Movement sensor)

Close I/O settings window.


Now click on Send CFG (Device should be connected) to upload the configuration to the
device. If you want to save the CFG file goto File->save CFG.

Testing and Diagnostics


To test your configurations, go to Tools->Live IO data. All the current parameters will be
shown in a table.

For diagnostic purposes go to Tools->Diagnostic tool. When prompted for your name enter
a name and click ok. Before doing this disconnect the device from the main configuration
window.

Then click connect.

After connecting with


the device the window
will appear like this. You
can check all the
parameters here.
