MESSAGE OF HOPE

Thank you very much for giving applause!

To our guest speaker, the beloved school principal, Ms. Rizza Pearl B. Trias,

members of the Board of Trustees especially to Rev. Teodoro M. Ribo and Rev.

Reynaldo Garcia, teachers, members of the faculty, administration staff, graduating

students, friends, relatives, visitors, and also our parents who watched this virtual

event. Have a blessed afternoon to everyone!

Today is the day that we complete our journey as Senior High School

students that overcome all the challenges and trials for the past two years here in

our beloved Alma Mater, Bethel Academy. People need education because it is an

effective way to expand our minds and to learn new skills and ability. Also, it is the

vessel to survive in poverty. In our present time, our world is facing endless

suffering due to CoViD-19 pandemic that kills more than a million people and

affects our daily lives including education. In the new normal of education, we face

many challenges like loss of internet connection, gadgets to use in online learning,

money to buy books and payment for tuition fee and other activities. Some schools

here in the country are suddenly closed because of a pandemic and some others

are open, especially Bethel Academy. I would like to thank our parents for

continuing to support and educate their child in a private school as a result of their

efforts, and if they do not, where else will we study? We must reciprocate the love

because they are the ones who pour into our family.
I want to share a verse song that I always sang when I graduated from Grade

6 from the title “Go the Distance'' by Michael Bolton that goes like this:''And I won't

look back, I can go the distance, And I'll stay on track, no I won't accept defeat, It's an

uphill slope, But I won't lose hope, 'till I go the distance, And my journey is complete,

oh yeah”. Research thesis, assignments, seatworks, video presentations and so on,

this is what we do when we have an assignment that we want to finish or pass on

the due date and time in the new normal but in our life as students it is really it is

difficult because we have a hard time working who wants to help your elder, sister

or brother. Sometimes, we are overwhelmed by something that is really happening

because it is part of our test in life, if in the race you have to get to the finish line so

is learning that even if the running time is different, we can do it after all. It is

better to work when there is physical face-to-face than online, no matter what

place and time, we still have the same experience, we test our challenge. Some of

our classmates have deliberately stopped studying just because of the situation,

why do you even need to stop? Don’t you think about your future? There is

sympathy to accompany you because the aim for us is not left behind. We build as

one.

In my life I have experienced bad things: being tripped by others,

persecution, misunderstanding with each other, some of the problems I have

experienced but what I want to say is "We have learned and it will never happen

again" because it really hurts to think of remembering the traces of the past but
God reassured me that he used me as an instrument in my study that would give

new hope. Even though we are different based on our nationality, religion, political

affiliation, or language: Education was united for us to give quality in our diversity

and let us reminisce about the beautiful past for their will to gather your friends

someday.

I would like to thank to my two advisers since Grade 11 and 12, Ms. Nhicy and

Sir Fabi for giving love and guidance that you are considered as a second family of

our institution, to Sir Albelda who gave me strength in creating a research thesis

and all of the teachers that you are the academic frontliners who guide their

students to reach their dreams. My prayer all of you is to strengthen teamwork as a

community who gives needs to the students for the sake of knowledge.

And for my last speech for today, I want to thank the people who helped,

loved and guided me when I started my education at my beloved school that

inspires my life because whatever the circumstances of life poor or rich, smart or

knowledgeable, disabled or not: the important thing is that you can complete an

education that serves as a light and guide to reach the desired success. Our goal is

to serve with passion, love people like us, and discover new knowledge that you are

determined to step into the next stage. My prayer is for each of them to find the

course they will take that will serve as the hope of our people. Stand in your own

womb. Stand up for what is right and wrong because we have our own outlook on

life and don’t forget to always pray to God that gives strength in every difficult time
and he will not forsake you in your journey. Don’t lose hope but you need to be

strong. The song that I Give to you from the Nikki Gil’s “Glowing Inside” says:

“Thank you for the glow, And thank you for the joy, Thank you for the love you give to

me, I'm glowing, glowing inside, With your love shining through, Thank you for

everything you do, I'm glowing inside because of you.” We Soar High as One.

Mabuhay and congratulation, Batch 2020-2021!

Good afternoon to everyone and thank you very much! To God be the Glory and

God Bless us All!
