INTRODUCTION
Mindanao State University (MSU) Sulu is formerly known as MSU-Sulu Development and
Technical College (SDTC). The campus was a founded by the government to rehabilitate the
educational situation of the province of Sulu in 1974. In the year 2013, K to 12 was put into law
known as R.A 10533. In year june 2016 Deped launch senior high school (SHS) nationwide, that a
new basic education that consist of grades 11 and 12. In the implementation of K-12 curriculum,
Thier were some changes in our basic education. For the past few years our basic education
program was relied on 10 years but now its is from kinder to Grade 12 which count to be exact 13
years of basic education.
The people living this in a information age dependent on a digital information. Digital
information is an electronic information, that may result of computer processing. Computer may
enable the efficient processing and storage in the information. A Grading System play or help the
management of system of the schools. Grading system is clearly, accurately, commonly, and easily
communicate on learning progress and achievement to the student, postsecondary institutions, and
prospective employers. As of a student we’ve desires to achieve a good score for each assignment,
exam, project or report, the whole process adds a heavy work load for teachers in order to make
their evaluation fair, comprehensive, and accurate.
A Grading system are designed to provide incentives for achievement and assist in
identifying problem area of a student. Student’s grades are vital information needed in advancing to
the next grade/year level and its accuracy is very important. Many teachers feel that the time they
take in recording and computing for the grades of their students is time that could be better spend
elsewhere, like preparing lessons, researching or meeting with their students. With the advent of
computer technology, more and more schools, are taking advantage of a variety of grading system
available both off-line and online that can help save time on administrative tasks and give teachers
more time to attend to other important functions.
However, a greater majority, especially small schools, government schools, and schools in
remote areas, still utilize the manual method of recording and computing for the grades of the
students. The grading system is based on an advanced marking pattern. Unlike old times, now
students get assessed on the basis of monthly assignments, objective and subjective tests,
presentations, quizzes and final term paper. The grading system has made studies easier in many
ways. Those who only want to pass can simply make lesser efforts to achieve passing grade. And
those who want to score higher can divide the effort per task and achieve the overall targeted
grade easily.
PROJECT CONTEXT
The objective of this project is to lessen the job of the faculty in terms of manual computing and
adding records such as Activities, Quizzes, Projects and Examination. To facility the job of teachers and
administration to provide correct and timely information.
Generally, the goal of grading system is to evaluate individual students’ learning and the
performances. It also give a feedback to students so they can take any charge of their learning and to
provide any information to all whose support the students, teacher special educators, parents, and
others.it also an innovation in education that focuses on learning and helps increase achievement. The
purpose of Grading System is to assist the educator in communicating with the student. It may gives the
teacher a method of showing the student if their work acceptable or not and to what level.
OBJECTIVES
The Grading System is very important aspect of a school’s operation and goals. The basic
objective of a Grading System is to communicate to a parents a periodic evaluation summarizing
significant factors of the student’s adjustment in the total education program.
- This system is the fast way for the faculty member’s to compute and put the final grades of the
indiviual students.
- To Evaluate individual student’s learning and performance.
- To easily view the grades of the student’s through the system
- To reduce workload of teachers by eliminating the need for manual computations and recording
of each’s grade.
- To produce an accurate result of students grade.
