NOTES

When a percentage lower than 100% is specified, the percentage is applied on lot basis. Lot is defined as all piping welds under the same
extension percentage fluid classification, i.e. Normal, Category D, welded within the same week even if belonging to different lines or piping
1 classes. The welds to be examined in each designated lot of piping shall include the work product of each welder or welding operator whose
welds are part of the lot. At least 50% of the joints selected for random examination shall be from fluid classification N. In addition all joints
selected to represent a lot shall be selected in order to represent as much as possible all lines and piping classes included in such lot.

For ferritic steel piping, where joint geometry or thickness makes radiography impractical, ultrasonic examination (UT) may be used subject to
2 agreement with the COMPANY. The UT examination shall be in accordance with ASME B31.3 Code Case 181-2 or an equivalent agreed with the
COMPANY

MT for ferromagnetic materials. PT for non-ferromagnetic materials. Where it is impratical to perform MT for ferromagnetic materials, PT may be
3 used in lieu of MT and subject to prior approval from Inspection Department.

4 Visual ispection shall be performed prior all volumetric and superficial tests.
5 Where accessible, welds shall be visually examined from root side to ensure that proper penetration and fusion have been achieved.
6 Butt welds include also miter joints as for ASME B31.3

7 All pressure retaining welds other than butt welds includes branch connections, weldolets, sockolets, and welding bosses.
All attachment welds shall be subject to MT( ferromagnetic materials) or PT for items in nonferro-magnetic materials (e.g. austenitic stainless
8 steel, nickel alloys) as per section 13.3.3.&13.3.4 of DRP001-OFF-SPE-W-800-40.

9 All pressure retains joints means butt welds plus other than butt welds.

10 Production hardness shall be as per Table 4 of specification DRP001-OFF-SPE-W-800-40.

11 PMI frequency shall be as per Positive Material identification (PMI) procedure DRP-001-OFF-PRO-L-000-008

12 100% of fabrication for bonds other than circumferential, except those components made in accordance with a listed specification

13 All weld preparations in duplex stainless steels shall be NDE examined by MT/PT.
