Materials
• 20g Lincraft Cotton 8ply in coral
• 40g Lincraft Cotton 8ply in cream/white
• 5g Lincraft Cotton 8ply in mint
• 1 pair 7mm black safety eyes
• Polyester fibrefill
• Plastic pellets (optional)

• 3.0mm crochet hook
• Stitch marker (optional)
• Wool or tapestry needle

• Tension is not critical but keep stitches tight to prevent stuffing from showing.
• Stitches used: slst, ch, dc, inv dec, magic ring, backstitch

• Project should be assembled as individual parts are constructed in order. Finished
size is approximately 8.5cm tall when suggested yarn and needle are used.
A) Tentacles (make 4):
Using coral yarn:
Foundation chain: Leave long tail for sewing, ch 5, turn.
Row 1: dc in 2nd ch space from hook, dc in each ch to end of row.
Break yarn and pull through.

B) Head:
Using coral yarn:
Foundation: 6 st magic ring
Round 1: 2dc in each st (12 st)
Round 2: *dc, 2dc in 1 st*, repeat ** to end (18 st)
Round 3: *2dc, 2dc in 1 st*, repeat ** to end (24 st)
Round 4: dc to end of round (24 st)
Round 5: *3dc, 2dc in 1 st*, repeat ** to end (30 st)
Round 6-10: dc to end of round (30 st)
Using the image on the right as a guide, add safety
eyes between rows 9 and 10, with a space of 4-5
stitches visible between the facing edges of the eyes.
Sew the tentacles between Rows 10 and 11 between
the eyes.
Round 11: *3dc, inv dec*, repeat ** to end (24 st)
Round 12: *2dc, inv dec*, repeat ** to end (18 st)
Round 13: *dc, inv dec*, repeat ** to end (12 st)
Slst, break yarn and invisible fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing to the body. Stuff with
polyester fibrefill.
C) Legs (make 2):
Using mint yarn.
Foundation: 6 st magic ring
Round 1: 2dc in each st (12 st)
Round 2: *3dc, 2dc in 1 st*, repeat ** to end (15 st)
Round 3: slst, change to coral yarn, do not break mint yarn, slst, dc to end of round (15 st)
Round 4: 14dc, slst (15 st)
Change back to mint yarn.
Round 5: slst, 2dc, inv dec, *3dc, inv dec*, repeat ** to end (12 st)
Round 6: dc to end of round (12 st)
Round 7: *2dc, inv dec*, repeat ** to end (9 st)
Slst, break yarn and pull through, invisible fasten off, leaving
long tail. Using mint yarn and backstitch, sew a V-shape onto
rows 3 and 4 opposite the first stitch of both rounds as shown
on the right. Stuff lightly.

D) Body:
Using mint yarn:
Foundation: 6 st magic ring
Round 1: 2dc in each st (12 st)
Round 2: *dc, 2dc in 1 st*, repeat ** to end (18 st)
Round 3: *2dc, 2dc in 1 st*, repeat ** to end (24 st)
Round 4-5: dc to end of round (24 st)
Change to cream/white yarn.
Round 6-7: dc to end of round (24 st)
Round 8: *2dc, inv dec*, repeat ** to end (18 st)
Round 9: dc to end of round (18 st)
Round 10: *dc, inv dec*, repeat ** to end (12 st)
Slst, break yarn and invisible fasten off. Add plastic pellets to the base of the body if required
and stuff the remaining space with polyester fibrefill.
Sew the legs to the lower half of the body with V-shape pointing upwards. For best results,
sew one of the legs over the jog in the body where the colour change has taken place (see
images below).
Align stitches of Round 10 of the body with those from the last round of the head and sew
together using the long tail left over.
E) Arms (make 2):
Using coral yarn:
Foundation: 6 st magic ring
Round 1: 2dc in each st (12 st)
Round 2: dc to end of round (12 st)
Round 3: 11dc, slst (12 st)

Change to cream/white yarn.
Round 4: slst, 11dc (12 st)
Round 5: *2dc, inv dec*, repeat ** to end (9 st)
Round 6-8: dc to end of round (9 st)
Slst, break yarn and pull through, invisible fasten off, leaving a long tail. Stuff lightly, pinch
the top edge together and sew to the join between the head and body on opposite sides.
For best results, adjust the piece so that the colour change between Rounds 3 and 4 face
the body. Repeat with the other arm.
Weave in any remaining ends and keep well away from any anchovies.
