General ProSafe-RS/ProSafe-RS Lite

Specifications RS4E5210
I/O List Engineering Package
GS 32P04C20-01EN

 GENERAL
I/O List Engineering Package is used for generating and managing a safety I/O list. This software allows a user to
perform I/O design through a unified interface with Integrated Production Control System CENTUM VP.
This software is an optional function of Automatic Design Suite (AD Suite). (*1) It is available for ProSafe-RS and
ProSafe-RS Lite (*2).
The I/O List Engineering Package is applicable to the following safety control stations (SCSs):
SSC50S, SSC50D, SSC57S, SSC57D, SSC60S, SSC60D, S2SC70S, S2SC70D, L1SC70S, L1SC70D

*1: For the details of AD Suite, refer to GS “Automation Design Suite (AD Suite), RS4E5000 Engineering Server Function,
RS4E5100 Safety System Engineering and Maintenance Function” (GS 32P04C10-01EN).
*2: When used for ProSafe-RS Lite engineering, it has been supported since ProSafe-RS R4.06.

 FUNCTION SPECIFICATIONS
In AD Suite’s I/O engineering, this package allows engineering of I/O design, applications design, and system
configuration design in parallel, which means a user can start safety applications design and I/O design prior to the
system configuration is determined. Furthermore, this package flexibly responds to the I/O design changes even
during configuration of safety applications.

This I/O List Engineering Package consists of the Safety I/O editor and the IOM definition editor.

l Safety I/O editor

The Safety I/O editor defines the plant information as a safety I/O list. The plant information can be associated with
an application using the I/O tag name of this safety I/O list, thus configuration of the application is enabled even the
detailed design of I/O modules and data communications have not been completed.

The safety I/O list for N-IO node in ProSafe-RS can be used with the FieldMate Validator (*1) which enables to
perform connection tests of the N-IO I/O modules and field devices without a safety control unit.
*1: FieldMate Validator R1.02 or later version is required.

l IOM definition editor

The IOM definition editor allocates a node to a specified SCS, or an I/O module to a specified node. The IOM
definition editor enables the following types of engineering.
• Generate nodes and I/O modules by manual input
• Collectively generate nodes and I/O modules based on a safety I/O list

The IOM definition editor defines and edits the properties of nodes and I/O modules. Temporary information can also
be used to define an item. Items to be defined are as shown below.
• Node properties
• IOM basic properties
IOM types
Other properties (i.e. redundancy, IOM comment and output type)
• Detailed properties for each IOM type

 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
