A DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES

An effective 21st-century educator thinks about the learner’s future and is aware of the career opportunities that may arise for
them. Being a 21st century teachers are always planning to ensure that no child gets left behind in preparing for today's children for
what's to come in the future. A 21st century teachers know how to provide and process experiential learning in their students by
incorporating differentiated instructions and utilizing 21st century literacies that will prepare their learners as they leave the portals of
the school and joined the outside world. For me, here are the following required competencies that every teacher must have to cater
these goals in the education system.
Using digital and media literacies in the teaching-learning process- This course offers the learners skills in utilizing digital
technologies that he/she can incorporate in their teaching-learning process. The use of KAHOOT and any other forms of assessment
in determining the level of the students’ performance would make the task much easier for the teacher. The use of power director,
clip grab and other movie maker application in the presentation of one’s lesson will be very effective in engaging the students. The
course requires the learner to submit projects and outputs in e-magazines and e-books. Further, the final task of the learner before
ending the course, is to record his/her demo-teaching using multimedia applications that they could both analyze and reflect on the
things that needs improvement.
Thinking critically and imaginatively- this competencies can be learned by the leaner from a colleague who is expert in
utilizing Higher Order Thinking Skills through a Learning Partnership Program or from an INSET and LAC sessions that showcase
creativity. This is done ones or twice every quarter or as needed.
Modelling virtuous and respectable values- this training course offers meditation and recollection classes that will help
learners develop and improve in themselves values such as integrity, commitment, loyalty, open-mindedness, efficiency, etc. This
course will last for three months and requires the learners to attend the 12 sessions needed from them. Different situations that
portrays variety of values and norms will be showcased in the sessions.
Applying scientific, problem solving and research-based instruction – this training course offers scientific, problem-
solving and research-based projects/ outputs that answers today’s problems/issues such as climate change, pollution, environment,
politics, economics, values and norms. The course will last for about 3 months and an oral defense of a thesis or research is needed.
Utilizing varied classroom group and individual learning activities- this training course will enable the learners to acquire
differentiated and varied learning activities for group works such as role playing, chambers theatre, speech choir, message relay,
charade, etc. and individual work such as digital reporting, mural painting, canvass drawing and the likes that promotes facilitation,
cooperation, and collaboration skills. This will surely help the learner to be somehow effective and efficient in his classroom
managerial skills and instructions.
