IT Decision Making
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is the business executive responsible for policy and
implementation of information technology (IT). The CIO must study emerging innovations,
strategize how technology can deliver business value and resolve the risks related to digital
information about controlling the hardware, software and data that enable other C-suite members
to do their job adequately. To execute a plan, the CIO manages IT resources. The CIO also
works with the entire management team to formulate procedures for policy. To fulfill the role, a
CIO must understand company visions and IT works. What project to prioritize and decide to
destroy or continue a project is the most challenging decision that a CIO has to face[ CITATION
Ker19 \l 1033 ]. This may be the enterprise's real turning point. It can be harmful or
advantageous to choose to carry on a project and abandon another. It is very important to choose
the goal to prioritize whether the decision is right or the wrong option. The impact could lead to
plan to cybersecurity and process improvement. They need to consider broad developments in
technology to be able to match technology with company objectives. The CTO position is
expanding by the day, from conventional IT to web creation and everything in between. The
CTO should remain ahead of the curve in recognizing these developments as emerging
technology and inventions start to interrupt more and more sectors and agencies[ CITATION

will have a delegate. A CIO is also responsible for organizing, designing, creating and executing

various IT projects. Jobs are expected to be on time and budget with a CIO. The overload of
what encompasses the role is a downside to getting a CIO in the strategic planning
process[ CITATION Ren21 \l 1033 ]. A CIO can end up concentrating only on one component
architecture. The CTO is responsible for technology decisions, internal processes and design,
recruitment, the vision of technology and innovation and marketing strategies. For a CTO, the
most challenging choices are who to recruit for the position and what job to prioritize. The CTO
is in charge of the production team and other project roles. For the work, they have to find the
best guy. If one place fails, the project may be postponed, the budget surpassed, and fail. To
completely implement them, they will have to priorities those tasks. If the wrong prioritization is
performed, an object failure may occur. It can be very costly to have an independent CTO role.
This presents a huge downside that will need to be resolved in the decision to have a CTO. A
CTO will concentrate on the product that the company provides and ensure that the company has
the latest technologies to connect with the client. CTO focuses on tech, which enhances the
ability to understand the needs of the client better. Since today's market is becoming more
would lead to a potential increase in revenue and sales[ CITATION Ker19 \l 1033 ].
