I. OBJECTIVE
Draws the four basic shapes (M1GE-IIIf-3)
III. PROCEDURE
A. PRIMING ACTIVITIES
1. Drill
Look at the following. What are they called?(lines) Draw slanting lines ,
draw a horizontal straight line and draw a vertical straight line and a curve
line.
2. Review
What is the shape of the following foods?
Which of the following foods should we eat often? Why? If you are given a
chance to choose what you eat in the following foods, which food should you
choose? Why? Which of the following foods are good for our health? Which
of the following foods do you like the most?
(MAPEH , ESP, AP Integration)
3. Motivation:
Let the learners sing the shapes song using a video presentation. (ICT
Integration)
What is the song all about? (shapes) What are the shapes mentioned in
the song?
B. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES
1. Setting the stage for learning
Trace the broken line and tell what shape is form. What are the
shapes form? What are the four basic shapes? How can you describe
circle? Rectangle? square? Triangle?
2. MODELING
Today we are going to learn on how to draw the four basic shapes. How
to draw a circle? Square? Rectangle and triangle? Teacher will model to the
pupils on how to draw the four basic shapes.
3. GUIDED PRACTICE
-With the teacher let the learners draw the four basic shapes
in the air, in their desk, at the back of their classmates and in their palm.
- In a group of four have the class do the following activity:
Say: What should we do when we are working with others?
Group 1 .Look at the pictures. What are their shapes?Draw their shapes in
the blank.
Group 2. Connect the dots/lines to form the shapes and draw a similar one
beside it.
Group 3. Find all circles and color it red, find the squares and color it blue.
Find all the rectangles and color it green and find all triangles and color it
yellow.
Group 4. Read the given name and draw (5) the needed shapes in each box.
4. INDEPENDENT PRACTICE
Let the learners answer activity 1 and 2 in math worksheet no. 46.1
and process it.
5. GENERALIZATION
How to draw the four basic shapes ( circle , square, rectangle,
triangle)? A circle is a round shaped figure that has no corners or edges . A
square has 4 corners and 4 equal sides. A rectangle has 4 corners and 4
sides with only opposite sides that are parallel and equal. A triangle has 3
corners and 3 sides.
IV. ASSESSMENT
Read and draw the needed shapes in each box.
