 Non-Tariff restrictions between India and China- Apart from imposed custom duties

and other taxes on imports of the goods, there are several other non- tariff restrictions that
restricts the trade between the two nations. In 2017, total 139 commodities were
subjected to import licencing control in China, which means in order to export these 139
commodities which mainly consisted of ozone depleting substance, mechanical products,
and electronics products import licence is required by the importer which will be
provided by The Ministry of Commerce along with other related State Council
departments in China. Similarly, India has also imposed import licencing for most of its
consumer goods, for example, India government requires import licence for importing
motorcycles and vehicles in India which is very restrictive. (Globaltrade.net, 2010). Also,
Anti-dumping cases imposed by India on Chinese products cases dispute in their trade
relations. Recently India filed anti-dumping cases on 93 Chinese products being imported
from China in August, 2017. (Ghosh, 2017)
