         Foreign Ministers from South East Asia attended the 52nd ASEAN summit in Bangkok.

         Human Resources Development Minister inaugurated Technology Expo at IIT Delhi to showcase the latest
innovation in the field of science and technology.

         In the 10th Mekong-Ganga Cooperation (MGC) in Thailand's Bangkok, the Ministers adopted the new MGC
Plan of Action 2019-2022 that envisages project-based cooperation in the seven areas.

         The 5th meeting of India-Nepal Joint Commission will be held in Kathmandu, Nepal. The Joint Commission
Meeting will review overall state of bilateral relations and various areas of cooperation.

         The Group of 7 or G7 Summit has begun in Biarritz, France. It is an informal meeting between France, the
United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Italy and Canada as well as the European Union. India has been
invited as a special guest in the summit.

         The 4th edition of India’s largest confluence of digital technology, the Internet of Things (IoT) India
Congress 2019 held in Bengaluru, Karnataka with the theme of ‘Mainstreaming the Internet of Things’.

         The 2019 Indo Pacific Chiefs of Defence (CHOD) Conference with a theme "Collaboration in a free and
Open Indo - Pacific", will be held in Bangkok, Thailand. In this conference, India will be represented by Chairman
Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) and Chief of the Air Staff- Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa.

         The 7th 'Community Radio Sammelan' will be held in New Delhi. The theme of this year’s Sammelan is
‘Community Radio for SDGs’.

         The 12th India Security Summit was held in New Delhi. The theme of the summit was “Towards New
National Cyber Security Strategy”.

         Research Designs and Standards Organization organized the “Mega Vendor Meet 2019” at Lucknow.

Ø  Election Commission of India will host the 4th General Assembly of Association of World Election Bodies at
Bengaluru.
Ø  Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the 5th edition of the aquaculture event, Aqua Aquaria India, in
Hyderabad. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Taking Blue Revolution to India’s Hinterland’.
Ø  14th Conference of Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification begins in Greater Noida.
Ø  Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh co-chaired the Japan–India Defence Ministerial Meeting held in Tokyo, Japan.
Ø  72nd Session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia held in New Delhi. The committee is the highest
decision making and governing body of WHO in the region.
Ø  A joint India- New Development Bank workshop was held in New Delhi. The workshop was organized to enhance the
NDB’s engagement with the India's private and public sector.
Ø  Central Bureau of Investigation's 1st National Conference on Cyber Crime Investigation and Cyber
Forensics inaugurated in New Delhi.
Ø  5th Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok, Russia. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated as the
Chief Guest at the Eastern Economic Forum. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the “Act Far East” policy for
Russia. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced a $1 Billion line of credit to Russia for the development of
the resource-rich region.
Ø  The 68th Plenary session of the North Eastern Council (NEC) begins in Guwahati, Assam. Union Home Minister Amit
Shah Chaired the 2-day event.
Ø  The 1st conference on military medicine for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states will be
held in Delhi.
 
Ø  The Ministry of Civil Aviation organised India’s first-ever helicopter summit in Dehradun.
Ø  The 6th India-China Strategic Economic Dialogue was held in New Delhi. The Indian side was led by Dr. Rajiv
Kumar, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog and the Chinese side by Mr. He Lifeng, Chairman, National Development and
Reforms Commission.
Ø  The 22nd Session of UN Committee on Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities was held at Geneva. The
UN Committee on CRPD took up India’s First Country Report for consideration during the session.
Ø  International conference ANGAN (Augmenting Nature by Green Affordable New-habitat) for Energy Efficiency in the
Building Sector is being organized by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency in New Delhi.
Ø  The 24th World Energy Congress commence in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al
Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. The theme of this World Energy Congress is “Energy for
Prosperity”.
Ø  Bureau of Police research and development will organize the National Conference on “Criminal Activities and
Radicalization in Jails: Vulnerability of Inmates and Jail Staff and their Protection” in New Delhi.
Ø  Nepal Infrastructure Summit 2019 was held in Kathmandu, Nepal. The theme of the summit was “Resilient
Infrastructure for Sustainable Development“.
Ø  Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair the 29th meeting of the Northern Zonal Council.
Ø  The World Sindhi Congress (WSC) hosted a 31st international conference on Sindh in London.
Ø  7th World Hindu Economic Forum (WHEF) 2019 held in Mumbai, Maharashtra with the theme of “Prosperous

v  Gujarat will host the State Power Ministers’ Conference. It will take place at Kevadia, on the banks of Narmada river.
v  The 9th Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Intersessional Ministerial Meeting will be held in
Bangkok, Thailand. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will represent India in the meeting.
v  Minister of State for Youth and Sports Kiren Rijiju inagurated 1st India Sports Summit 2019 in New Delhi.
v  The 2nd “India-China Informal Summit” between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and China’s President Xi Jinping
begins at Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu.
v  The first National Hindi Science writers conference 2019 started in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh with an aim to
promote the use of Hindi and other Vernacular languages in science writing.
v  Union Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated a conference on ‘One Nation One Tag –
FASTag’ in New Delhi to roll out the process for having a .unified electronic system across the country
v  Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the 41st DRDO Directors Conference in New Delhi.
v  India will host the 91st Interpol General Assembly in 2022 after a proposal received the overwhelming support of
member countries at this year’s congregation at Santinago in Chile.
v  Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurated the 11th Edition of Nuclear Energy Conclave 2019 in New Delhi. The theme of the
Conclave: “Economics of Nuclear Power- Innovation towards Safer & Cost-Effective Technologies”. It was
organized by India Energy Forum (IEF).
v  The 18th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit has been scheduled to be held between 25 October and 26 October
2019 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
v  The 1st India-Bangladesh Stakeholders’ meet was held in Guwahati. Bangladesh was represented by Commerce
Minister Tipu Munshi.
v  The Global Bio-India 2019 will be held for the first time in India in New Delhi from 21st to 23rd November, 2019.
v  The 9th edition of Bangladesh-India Friendship Dialogue will be held at Cox Bazar in Bangladesh from November
1, 2019.

v  The 35th ASEAN Summit began in Bangkok, Thailand from October 31 to 4 November.
The theme of the summit for this year is “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability”.
v  The biennial Commonwealth Law Ministers’ Conference is being held in Colombo, Sri
Lanka from 4-7 November 2019. India will be represented at the conference by Union
Minister for Law and Justice Ravi Shankar Prasad. The theme for the 2019 CLM
Conference is ‘Equal Access to Justice and the Rule of Law’.
v  Union Home Minister inaugurated the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) joint
exercise on urban earthquake search and rescue 2019 at the Ambedkar
International Center in New Delhi.
v  Lok sabha speaker Om Birla composed the Indian Parliament delegation for 6th
parliamentary summit of G20 countries, held in Tokyo, Japan 2019.
v  The 2nd ‘No Money for Terror’ 2019 conference going on in Melbourne, Australia.
v  The Union Minister for Environment, Forest and climate change & Information and
Broadcasting(I&B), Prakash Javadekar, has participated in the 15th governing council
meeting (GCM) of the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme 2019
(SACEP) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

v  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a 2-day visit to Brazil from the 13th of this

v  Sanskrit Bharati Vishwa Sammelan, a mega event for discussing ideas, theories and
research findings in the ancient Sanskrit language, begins in New Delhi.
v  Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, chaired the inaugural
conclave on “National Capital Region-2041” organized by the National Capital Region
Planning Board in Delhi. The theme of the conclave was “Planning for Tomorrow’s
Greatest Capital Region”.
v  Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria will inaugurate the 58th Indian Society of Aerospace
Medicine Annual Conference. The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Changing
Paradigms in Aerospace Healthcare’.
v  India will host the 19th council of heads of government of the Shanghai Cooperation
Organisation 2020. The latest Summit of heads of government was held
in Tashkent in November 2019.
v  The Union Minister of State (I/C) Development of North Eastern Region, has addressed
the India-ASEAN Business Summit 2019 in New Delhi on the theme: “Today,
Tomorrow, Together”.
v  National Statistical Commission inaugurated the 27th Conference of Central and State
Statistical Organizations (COCSSO) organized by Ministry of Statistics and Programme
Implementation (MoSPI) at Kolkata, West Bengal. The theme was “Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs)”.
v  Ministry of AYUSH will organize the International Conference on Yoga at Mysuru,
Karnataka with the theme ‘Yoga for Heart Care’.
v  Regional Conference on the theme “Replication of Good Governance Practices in
Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh” begins in Jammu.
v  The Ministry of Agriculture will organize the 8th International Conference on
Agricultural Statistics (ICAS-VIII) in New Delhi. The conference will be held with the
theme of ‘Statistics for Transformation of Agriculture to Achieve the Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs)’.
v  The Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani was addressing the 2nd
edition of South Asia Safety Summit in New Delhi. The summit was joined by over
100 organisations from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and India.
v  Three-day Global Bio-India Summit 2019 begins in New Delhi. It will be one of the
largest biotechnology stakeholders conglomerate to be held in India for the first time.
v  India will host the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Forum of Young Scientists
and Innovators in 2020.
v  Union Minister of Jal Shakti, represented India at the 8 WATEC (Water Technology and
Environment Control) Conference 2019. The theme of the conference is “Water
Stewardship and Innovation–driving global leadership in the responsible
planning management, and protection of water”.
v  The DEFCOM INDIA 2019 seminar commenced at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. The
theme for the seminar is, “Communications: A Decisive Catalyst for Jointness”.
v  The 47th All India Police Science Congress (AIPSC) begins in Lucknow. The event will
be inaugurated by Puducherry Lieutenant Governor and retired IPS officer Kiran Bedi.
v  The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) is organizing a NuGen
Mobility Summit, 2019 in Gurugram, Haryana.
v  Minister of State for Home Affairs, inaugurated the 1st International

·         External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar co-chaired the 19th Joint Commission meeting
with Foreign Minister of Iran in Tehran, Iran.
·         The 5th Round of India-Japan Maritime Affairs Dialogue was held in Tokyo, Japan.
·         49th Border Coordination Conference between border guarding forces of India and
Bangladesh was held in New Delhi. The Indian delegation was headed by DG Border Security
