The advantages and disadvantages for Elon Musk’s management

Since the beginning of humanity, we have been aiming to make


our life easier and improve the quality of it, but to do so , progress is
needed and for progress great minds are required . Either it was the
discovery of fire or electricity the concept remains the same - someone,
different from the others, had to do it .
To start with, my favorite personality on earth and one of the
greatest minds today, Elon musk, is a role model when it comes to
business and big projects, a truly inventor that aims to change the future
having an incredible impact on industry and technology.
In order to understand the concept of Elon Musk's management I
will compare him to another important personality today, Bill Gates, to
see the differences and similarities and understand what led them to
achieving success.
First of all, Elon Musk and Bill Gates are both responsible for
many products, gadgets, and machines we use today. For example I'm
writing this essay On Microsoft word which was created by Bill Gates
and I paid for its license using PayPal which was created by Elon musk.
So everything it’s linked today and great minds make it work together.
Also, Elon Musk is the 2nd richest man in the world, while Bill Gates is
the 4th.
Both of them saw an opportunity in Internet and brought something new
into the IT domain which later became essential and started a new
industry. *Elon Musk in 1995 - “In ’95 I kinda thought the Internet would
be something that would change the world in a major way and I wanted to be a
part of it.”
*Bill Gates in 1995 - “The Internet is a tidal wave. It changes the
rules. It is an incredible opportunity as well as [an] incredible challenge,”

Secondly, they have some similarities in their management styles .


Either Musk or Gates doesn’t like long meetings and phone calls unless
is extremely urgent. I really agree with them, because time is extremely
valuable, time means money. They know that success is achieved with
successful people so they are very careful when they hire and after that,
they know how to manage the people they hired in order to get 100%
productivity and make them believe in the company vision . –
“The guy is pure ambition. He’s three or four steps ahead … Most of us can’t
conceive these things working; he can’t conceive it failing. Period,” Jim
Cantrell, SpaceX’s first engineer.
In addition I will say what made me choose Elon Musk. It was his
ambition and determination to explore space. Space is something that I
love, and the fact that Elon Musk has built a private company ( Space X)
with the main goal of exploring the space made me really proud and
happy. Because is not just a business, is more than that, is something for
the entire humanity, he is going to take us to the next level. His main
focus now is to send the first man to Mars. In order to do that he needs
to do experiments and create new things. That could be a disadvantage
as it happened to encounter many fails ( when a rocket exploded in the
air) that made the market share to go down. But he didn’t quit! He knew
how to transform those fails into lessons and then succeed .
