YLP 2 - Finale MC Script
YLP 2 - Finale MC Script
Prayer is the most important conversation of the day. So let us all stand and start this session
with Prayer. Cinta Shibu can you please lead us through with the Serenity Prayer.
Now that we have completed the first and most important part of the meeting, let us get
started
So, how many of you had a veg lunch, pls raise your hand? Hmmm…as I guessed. But, main
thing, I am sure you all enjoyed. I did and I had some yummy ___________
With all our stomachs happy, let us start the finale of YLP Season 2.
For the next 2 hours, feel Euphoric, for completing 9 successful sessions of YLP Intermediate
season 2 and being present here for the Grand Finale.
What is it to feel Euphoria: it is a feeling of well-being or elation! Euphoria is that excitement
you get from getting a perfect score on a test. It can also come from a roller coaster ride or as
the rush from a physical activity like downhill skiing, especially the first time.
Good Afternoon, respected Program Director – Dr. John Panackel
Respected Judges
Chief Mentor – Mr. Biju Thomas
Mentor – Ms. Sanju Robin
Coordinator-Ms. Binu Biju
Administrators – Mr. Pradeep Puravankara, Mr. Roz Lazer, and Ms. Smita Leo
Technical Support – Mr. Viswanath
Dear Parents, Family members and Friends of all participants
And of course all you excited and Euphoric participants.
I Averia Savio, your MC for the day, am glad to welcome you all to Finale of YLP – Intermediate
Season 2 – Zoom Virtual Meeting. I hope you all thoroughly enjoy the next 2 hours and at the
end of it, learn, cherish and carry something valuable with you.
Our Chief Mentor Mr. Biju Thomas will do the honors of welcoming, addressing and introducing
our esteemed judges.
Thank you Sir for that introduction and dear judges I heartily welcome you all once again.
Being a Judge is not an easy thing at all. Judges have to be attentive and have an eye for detail.
Good judgment comes from experience.
Dear Judges, we are honored and privileged to have you with us today. I am sure all of us
participants are going to give that extra bit only with the thought that you all are going to be
observing and judging us today.
Oh my! What am I seeing, today, we have a special timer - Cr. Binu Biju – she is going to be a
very busy person with her eyes on the clock and ears all over. Yes ma’am can you please
present us with the timing criteria.
Thank you Ma’am, that was very clear, all participants should be well aware of the timing
requirements.
Good grammar is like personal hygiene. You can ignore it if you want, but all those around you
will not ignore it. Participants please ensure your grammar is perfect today as I heard Sophie
Mathews has worked the whole of last week on her listening and picking skills. So today, she is
going to catch the grammatical mistakes and I am sure she is not going to let even small errors
go past her unnoticed, isn’t it Sophie? You may share the criteria now.
Thank You Sophie, that was very really emphasized on and we all definitely understood it well.
In today’s world, we all need to use interjections. If not, conversations may get very boring.
Wow, oops, eh, all these add coolness to our talks. But, you cannot use these in today’s
meeting. Yes, because we have Nora Lucy Deepu who cleaned her ears a little extra today to
record all these inappropriate sounds which actually reduces the professionalism in a speech.
Yes, Nora is smiling and agreeing to it. Please go ahead and present the criteria.
Thank you Nora, we will all bear in mind, sounds and interjections which we should avoid not
only today, but anytime we are in a formal meeting.
Now we move on to the Prepared Speeches:
· All Participants kindly ensure to Pin the timer.
· I Repeat - All Participants kindly ensure to Pin the timer.
· Participants can you please show me a thumbs up to show you are ready and
that you all have pinned the timer.
An effective speech by Ron Swanson – Well, I’m not usually one for speeches – so Goodbye.
Ron Swanson got away with that speech, but not our 3 enthusiastic speakers who have
prepared and are fully geared to impress us all with their speeches.
We welcome our first speaker Cinta Shibu – her topic is ‘Self-Confidence.’
Shreya Nayani is next and will be talking about how ‘Gadgets Have Restricted Students
Imagination.’
Thank You Shreya, that was very interesting
Derek Thomas is our third and final speaker for today, and his topic is ‘World Environment.’
Thank you Linz – that was a detailed and a very encouraging review.
Vishwak Nayani – I heard you are reviewing the encyclopedia! I was just kidding. You may go
ahead and ignite our interest in the special book you have chosen today.
Thank you Vishwak – a good book a good review.
There you are again Natalya, so, I have an idea. Since you were the Table Topics Master today,
can I give you a book which you can review on the spot instead of the one you have prepared
for? Relax, I was trying to get you into a euphoric mood before you review your book. Please
start.
That was a very good review Natalya. Thank you.
Ok, friends, I think it’s time we all lean on our tables, put our palms on our cheek and look
dreamy eyed, as its story time. Please don’t sleep, it’s not bedtime stories.
Smritee Manish, is here, with her loud commanding voice to tell us an interesting story. Story
Time Smritee
Smritee – the story was as sweet as you. Thank you.
Aarna Anil Kumar, what have you chosen? Suspense, thriller, moral, - we are eager to know.
Get going with it, the screen is yours.
Aarna – your story was great and we all loved it. Thank you.
Yasmeen Marzooq are you telling us a real life story or a mythical story – we do not know, but
we will find out soon. Go ahead please.
We found out what your story was about and were thoroughly engrossed in it too. Good Job.
There, the stories done. I know you all may not have a KIT KAT next to you, but I am giving you a
5 minute break. Please be back on time.
Hope you all had a good break. Welcome Back.
Its time now for me to hand-over to Dana Al Safar, as she will be taking you all through the
Evaluation Session.
Dana please take control. Thank you.
Thank you Dana, a well handled session and an important one.
For any event, program, function, performance etc, feedback is very important as it gives room
for improvement.
I will now ask our participants to give us a short feedback about your experience in YLP
Intermediate Season 2.
I have been with YLP for season 1 and 2, and it has been a very beneficial experience for me. I
have polished my MC skills as I have been an MC for few programs in the past, but, the role of
the MC in YLP is completely different and very challenging. Not only the role of MC but all the
other roles that I have played during our meetings have been polished thoroughly. As a
participant itself I have gained a lot of knowledge and my self-confidence has and is still
growing. Thank you!!
Yes participants we all strongly agree to that, and thank you all for your feedback.
The roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation – Dalai Lama.
Now we will have Cr. EK Saleem, Cr. Crisostum Joseph, and Cr. Pradeep Puravankara felicitating
this meeting.
Thank you dear councilors for your felicitation. It is said, be the reason for someone to smile
today. But, I am glad to tell you all that you have made all of us participants smile with glee
with your appreciation and encouraging words. Our heartfelt gratitude for that.
Respected Dr. John Panackel, I take this opportunity on behalf of all councilors and especially all
participants to thank you for the different ways in which you have played a part in the various
roles played by us. I am sure your guidance to the Mentors and Staff of the Pravasi Guidance
Forum goes a long way, as can be seen in the way they execute their responsibilities and the
positive attitude with which they deal with participants. As participants, we can feel your urge,
to ensure we all learn and grow and are able to bring about a positive change in us as well as
grow in confidence. Thank you Sir, and now I request you to share a few words with us and
address the meeting.
Thank you Sir, those were very valuable words which we will cherish.
Respected Judges – the task you have been doing today is not an easy one. Besides being
attentive and accurate, you have to take decisions which are seldom not easy. You have to look
into so many aspects before coming to a conclusion. But, I am sure you all are here because
you are experts in that.
We all are eager to hear it from all of you. How did you enjoy this Finale and what do you think
about us participants?
Thank you Judges, by saying this we wish to express our extreme gratitude for your presence
and contribution here today.
I now call upon the Judges to kindly announce the results.
Thank you Judges for judging the session and announcing the results which has made all the
winners proud and all the others hopeful for the next time.
All good things come to an end and so has our finale for today. Before we close for the season I
hereby request Ms. Sanju Robin to add the cherry to the cake by giving us her vote of thanks.
Thank you Ma’am for your inspiring Vote of Thanks, it is so true that thankful people are happy.
I request you all, to please stand for the Serenity Prayer.
God – grant me the serenity – to accept the things – I cannot change – the courage to change
the things I can – and the wisdom – to know the difference.
Kindly be seated.
Until the next time, goodbye, stay safe and happy summer holidays!!
