II. CONCEPT NOTES
A paragraph is a group of sentences with one main idea. A paragraph created in MS Word can
easily be formatted to make it appear more organized.
ALIGNMENT- Changing your paragraphs’ alignment means changing its position on the word
processing window
LINE SPACING- To change the distance between the lines of a paragraph
INDENTATION- This feature allows you to change the left and right margin of your paragraph

2. Change the alignment choices in the paragraph command group on the Home tab

Hands-On Activity
1. Create a new file in MS Word.
2. Type the paragraph below. Use font face Calibri with font size 16.
3. Format the paragraph according to the following:
a. Alignment- centered
b. Line Spacing- 1.5 lines
c. Indentation- .5 both left and right
d. Apply yellow background to the first paragraph.
e. Add boarder to the last paragraph.
INVERTEBRATES
Invertebrates are animals that do not have backbones. Invertebrates are cold-blooded; their body
temperature depends on the temperature of their environment. Some examples of invertebrates are
ants, bees and arachnids. Ants are social insects while bees are insects that fly and live in a hive.
Arachnids have eight jointed legs, an exoskeleton, and a two-part body. Spiders, scorpions, and ticks
are arachnids.
