Ms. Peace is grading papers. Four students wrote the following expressions in
response to the same math problem:

What was the average drop in temperature per minute?

5) Flora made 7 withdrawals of $75 each from her bank account. What was the overall change

lost 75 points. On his third turn, he lost 85 points. Write a sum of three negative integers
that models the change to Julio’s score after his first three turns.

2) A golfer has the following scores for a 4-day tournament. What was the golfer’s total
score for the tournament?

including tips. The team’s profit is the amount the team made after paying for supplies.

8) The temperature in Colorado is OoF at 11pm. Every hour the temperature drops 3oF. How

Suppose the level of the water supply drops 2 inches each week. What rational number
represents the change in the level in 4 weeks?

10) Once a parachute is deployed, a skydiver descends at a rate of about 5 meters per
second. Determine the skydiver’s location is relation to where the parachute was deployed
after 4 seconds.

change in the number of students playing a sport after seven years.

4.) The temperature in Fairfield, Montana fell from 63o F at noon to -21o F at midnight. What
was the average temperature change per hour?
