Overview: This course teaches students, through lectures, discussions, scenarios, demonstrations,
textbook exercises, and classroom labs, the skills and knowledge necessary to help
prepare them to take the Microsoft certification exam: Exam 70-410: Installing and
Configuring Windows Server 2012, which counts as credit toward the Microsoft Certified
Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows Server 2012 certification.

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
 Install and Configure Windows Server 2012 R2
 Understand Active Directory Domain Services Concepts
 Manage Active Directory Domain Services Objects
 Automate Active Directory Domain Services Administration
 Implement Networking Services
 Implement Local Storage
 Implement File and Print Services
 Implement Group Policy
 Implement Server Virtualization with Hyper-V

Grading: Final grades are determined through a weighted average of midterm and final
examinations, review questions and laboratory assignments. Your final grade in the course
will be based on the following:

Laboratory assignments 50%


Chapter quizzes 25%
Final examination 25%
100%

Assignments: Lab assignments: The MLO Worksheet for each MOAC Online Lab should be
emailed to the instructor no later than Monday June 10, 2014.

Chapter quizzes must be submitted by the deadline, except in extraordinary


circumstances. The assignments may be copied from the folder “Class files
Spring 2015”on any computer in the CNE lab. Completed chapter quizzes
should be emailed to the instructor no later than Monday June 10, 2014. The
subject line of the email must include the Course Number (CNE232).

Do not attach both Lab Assignments and Chapter Quizzes to the same email.
Use separate emails for submitting Lab Assignments and Chapter Quizzes.

Skills Being Measured on Exam 70-410: Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012

As of January 2014, this exam includes content covering Windows Server 2012 R2.

This exam measures your ability to accomplish the technical tasks listed below. The percentages indicate
the relative weight of each major topic area on the exam. The higher the percentage, the more questions
you are likely to see on that content area on the exam.

The information after “This objective may include but is not limited to” is intended to further define or
scope the objective by describing the types of skills and topics that may be tested for the objective.
However, it is not an exhaustive list of skills and topics that could be included on the exam for a given
