Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Pre-Registration and Registration

1. From where I can select my subjects for pre-registration?

First check the course curriculum to identify the courses that are going to be
opened for you in that semester based on your completion of prerequisite
courses. And then from the portal go to the “Offered course” section which
is under “Courses and Result” section to check whether that specific course
is going to be opened or not in your targeted semester.

2. I did not get my desired subjects during pre-registration slot. What can
I do now?

You can wait for the “final registration”. Because in the final registration
sometimes more sections get opened based on the requirement. Even in
some cases sits are released by the students who occupied those during pre-
registration, so it is wise to wait for final registration.

3. Can I take a subject without completing its pre-requisite?

No. Check the pre-requisite in table 1 and Table 2 (for electives) (Shown later
part in this document)

4. The subject and section I want to take is full. What can I do?

Either check for alternative courses for which you have completed the pre-
requisite courses or wait till final registration or “Adding/Dropping”.

5. When can I take elective subjects?

For the new curriculum (18-2 onwards) students, you will have to declare
major before taking any elective course. This should be done after completing
100 credits. Instruction on how to declare major will be available soon in the
website.
For the old curriculum students, whenever the pre-requisite of your desired
elective course gets completed. So, check the course curriculum to know
about the pre-requisites.
6. Can I take internship and thesis directly without registering the
intention in any other site?

No, to take internship as well as thesis you must register into the designated
sites.

7. I have completed the MS Form in teams and requested the subject(s)

but still nothing added in my account. What should I do?

You must wait because when you submit the request for subject(s), the
registration will process it. If there is anything wrong in your request, then
you will be notified the reason and alternative options will be provided. Have
patience.

8. I asked for some courses and sections but offered different timings and
courses. What can I do?

If you are satisfied with the offered course and timing take it, otherwise
request again during free slot.
9. Whom shall I email regarding my registration?

Check the notice of in AIUB website carefully. Email address of your

designated registration advisor is mentioned there. Sending emails to
elsewhere (associate dean/director/head) will simply delay your
registration. So please be careful. For example: If you email to your Head of
Dept. asking about registration, then Head of Dept. will forward that to
registration team and your email will be in queue.
10. I waited till final registration but still did not get my subjects.
What can I do now?
Confirm with minimum credit load during final registration. Wait for the
“Adding/Dropping” session which is held at the beginning of a semester.
You must keep your eyes on academic calendar for the schedule of the
Adding/Dropping session.

11. I did not confirm my registration and after the registration week,
all the selected subjects are gone from my account. What to do now?

Email your designated registration advisor and have patience.

12. I have an “I” in a course and cannot complete my registration

what shall I do?

Contact with the course teacher of that course to resolve the ‘I’ issue as soon
as possible. Registration cannot be confirmed with “I grade”. Registration
advisors cannot help you. Only the course teacher can remove “I”.

13. In what situation, I need to contact Office of Registrar (Khurshed Sir)?

• registration is blocked
