practice as well as sharpen other skills namely the physical, emotional, social, and
spiritual?
Field trips are a powerful learning experience. During a field trip a variety of strategies
will help students hold on to their excitement, curiosity, and learning. The decline of
student interest in accounting as a career choice has been well documented over the
past few years. Field trips are a great way for students to see first-hand what practicing
accountants actually do, and this will provide special benefits to the students. Field trips
are a fun way to provide enrichment, front load knowledge, and connect students to
learning experiences they would not otherwise have exposure to. These offer students a
chance to connect to real life examples of concepts and accounting theories they are
studying and concretize these theories. Field trips may also be used to feed the inquiry
process. Teachers will use the field trip to answer additional questions and create new
ones after students have answered questions and learned a little.
Also it is not only about how field trip methods bridge the gap between Accounting
theories and actual practice but also this helps students sharpen their skills just like
physical, emotional, social, and spiritual. In field trips it’s not only educational but also
it’s about fun, preparing activities or games and practicing the knowledge the students
have gathered are a great way to improve their skills physically. Emotional skills can be
sharpened through field trips by making this as a scapegoat to stress students are
facing in their studies, aside from that they will become emotionally ready in their future
careers because they have first-hand experience during their trip. Social and Field trips
are somewhat partners, during the trip students will have their own partners or teams
which they will be with throughout the trip, this will have a synergistic benefit to both
students in the course of activities or games. Field trips can also help students
spiritually by developing well-being, contentment, achievement, and satisfaction that
enable the student to achieve a holistic state of themselves.
Field trips can be expensive, complicated, and time-consuming, but with thoughtfulness
and time they can be some of the most powerful learning experiences available for
students.
