Unit 1
1. Which subject(s) you find most challenging. Why?
- I think that no subject is difficult for me, if my vocabulary is enough for my
subjects because I’m a sophomore major in English language, so the biggest
obstacle for me is vocabulary, without vocabulary I cannot listening, speaking,
reading, writing and other subject.
2. Who has helped you to overcome challenges in life? Why?
- I spend a lot of difficulties, but my parent who help me overcome challenges
in my life because they always believe and give me advice in every situation.
3. Who you helped most when they had difficulty in life?

1. Do you currently have any Achilles heel? What is it?
2. Talk about one of the challenges you encountered in life. What was
the challenge? How did you overcome it? What lesson(s) did you
learn from it?

Unit 3
1. Do you sleep well? Do you fall asleep easily?
- Yes, I’m an easy sleeper and fall asleep easily. I usually finish everything
before 11pm and go to bed. If I work late at night after 0am, I will not
able to sleep anymore. So I always try to complete everything go to bed
early.
2. Are you an “early bird” (a person who gets up early) or “a night
owl” (a person who stays up late)?
- I’m a person who gets up early. I think that this’s thing very good for
health. Getting up early can help us such as: more energy, give more time
to exercise, improve quality sleep,….
3. A proverb: “Early to bed, early to rise, makes you healthy, wealthy,
and wise.” What does this proverb mean? Do you agree with it?
- Meaning: emphasize that someone who gets enough sleep and starts work
early in the day will have a successful life.
- You’re right. We should apply this sentence to our lives, it will help us
improve more things.
4. What advice would you give to somebody who suffers from insomnia?
- In my opinion:
+ The first going to bed and getting up at roughly the same time every day will
programme your body to sleep better. Choose a time when you're likely to feel
tired and sleepy.
+ The second Your bedroom should be a peaceful place for rest and sleep.
Temperature, lighting and noise should be controlled so that your bedroom
environment helps you to fall (and stay) asleep.
+ Finally, Moderate exercise on a regular basis, such as swimming or walking, can
help relieve some of the tension built up over the day.

1. What animals do you think are intelligent? Explain why or give an
example.
2. What animals do you consider a nuisance? Why?
3. What abilities do animals have that people don’t have and vice
versa?
UNIT 5
1. How would you imagine your life at the age of 80?
- When my life at the of 80, I have many grandchildren and with my
husband grow trees and flowers, or together get up early to exercise and
walk everyday.
2. An old lady aged 60 is not enjoying her life. Which advice would you
give her to enjoy her life more?
- In Vietnam, the elderly often worry about their children and
grandchildren and don't care about themselves. I think they should care
and take care of themselves more, enjoy old age with their partner.
Besides, eating lots of fruits and vegetables, exercising at least two and a
half hours a week,1 and not smoking can improve your health and
longevity at any age.
3. Which age do you think is the best in one’s life? Why?
- In my opinion, 25 years old is the most beautiful age. because at this age
they usually say stable job and raise a family.
UNIT 6
1. How do you understand “Giving to others is also giving to
ourselves.”?
- We were born in a peaceful country, we develop the country together, but
what we can't forget is our warm heart, because If we give from the heart,
in a desire to connect, then we seize a common occasion and make it
special, which is much different than if we give to a great cause out of
obligation or self-importance.
2. Do you do any volunteer work? What are some benefits of doing
volunteer work?
- Yes, I do. I’m a volunteer take part in many activity. When I participate
volunteer work I feel myself do many things meaning.
- Besides, Volunteering can provide career experience, increases your
social and relationship skills, helps you make new friends and contacts,..
3. Do you think school students should do volunteer work. What types
of volunteer work are suitable for them?
- As I mentioned above Volunteering can provide career experience,
increases your social and relationship skills, helps you make new friends
and contacts,… So school students should do volunteer work.
- Example: activity about collect on river banks, sea, public places; blood
donation,….
UNIT 7
1. When and where do you typically do your assignments?
- I usually do assignments in library school, my room, and study myself
room.
2. Do you do anything else at the same time?
- When I’m not concentrate, I will do anything else such as listen a song,
reading news,…
3. What were your attitudes towards homework as a school child? And
now?
- When I’m a school child, I worked very hard on my homework, because
at that time I was afraid that she would punish me if I didn't do my
homework. And now, I still do homework very hart, because Because I'm
an adult, I know what I have to do and what I need to do.
UNIT 8
1. Do you play video games? Why?/Why not?
- No, I don’t. I feel very busy with my studies and extracurricular activities. It is
very rate for me to spend my time playing games. Sometime I feel stress, I play
for a short time.
2. What video games do you play? Why these games?
