TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

CONSTAB® AF 00240 PP
(Former: AF 0240 PP)
Antifog Masterbatch

Product description: CONSTAB® AF 00240 PP is a high concentrated antifog-masterbatch for

the use in Cast PP and BOPP films.
It contains special additives preventing the formation of water drops, which
may occur during condensation on the surface of the film.
CONSTAB® AF 00240 PP has a low vapour pressure and therefore
generates little vapour in the production line.

Appearance: Slightly yellowish, translucent

Physical form: Pellets.

Applications: CONSTAB® AF 00240 PP has been developed for coextruded food-

packaging PP films, especially for cold fog applications (e.g. refrigerated
food stuffs).
To optimise the efficiency of the masterbatch in PP films an adequate
corona or flame treatment is necessary on the film side, which is in contact
with the packed goods.

Let Down Rate: Generally the total amounts of masterbatch to be used are between 3 and
5%.
In coextruded PP films CONSTAB® AF 00240 PP is added in the
core layer and in the skin layer which is in contact with the packed
goods. The optimum level must be determined by tests and will be in-
fluenced by crystallinity of the polymer grade, the film processing pa-
rameters, the conditioning / storage temperature and the time.

Interaction: The usage of antistatic agents, lubricants, waxes and silicones may have a
negative influence on the effectiveness of CONSTAB® AF 00240 PP.

Packing: CONSTAB® AF 00240 PP is packed in 25 kg PE-bags on pallets.

Storage: The storage of CONSTAB® AF 00240 PP in its original packing causes no

problems. It is not especially sensitive to heat. Any opened original
containers should be carefully resealed. At a maximum room temperature of
25ºC the shelf life is six months. Storage at higher temperatures may impair
the quality of the masterbatch.

Approval: CONSTAB® AF 00240 PP is authorized for use in food packaging ma-

terials according to the European Commission Directive 2002/72/EC.
