Characteristics of Normal Cells Vs Transformed Cells: Ayman Saeed 2020-MPHIL-1243

Normal cells are non-malignant, non-invasive, and do not have activated oncogenes or their products present. Transformed cells are malignant, invasive, and have activated oncogenes and their products present. The characteristics of normal vs transformed cells can be tested through assays such as cell transformation assays, DNA extraction and hybridization, karyotyping, microscopy, immunofluorescent staining, RNA microarrays, and antibody testing.
